This is pretty simple. I didn't watch the NC game because I believe Winston is a rapist, and it was covered up by administrators and state officials. It is all I can do.

I urge everyone I know to live in a "Florida Free State." Pardon the pun. I don't vacation there. We buy TX and CA citrus, don't deal with much from FL; my kids and I will go to Disneyland in CA if we want a mindless vacation.

It is more than this one issue. FL has lost its moral compass, if it ever had one.

Speaking of which, when something like football becomes so important that everyone is willing to break the rules repeatedly, it becomes a haven for sociopaths. Sociopaths are not just serial killers. It is true that one per cent occurs in the natural general population, (sociopaths, not serial killers) and our prisons house sociopaths to a tune of 33 to 40%of their population. But corporate executives have a 4 per cent rate (4X base line), and there have been (many) clerics and politicians, (including many nationally known), and I believe that it includes more than one president, as well.

So you take a dirty environment and the rats swarm. It becomes a target rich environment. I ran CCP and prison transport details years ago. I remember how great an organization the USMC was. A rural boy or a city boy could be brothers in arms and could end up best friends. I saw it. It really amazed me how many sub-human emotionless animals were attracted to my corps, to our corps.

I learned then that their was only one way to deal with a snake; strike a lethal blow to its head. There is no way to clean this up. It needs to be knocked down and started over from scratch.

Also, after seeing what is going on among the "most successful programs" is there anyone who really feels bad about ND's results under Kelly? ND is following the rules. These other programs seem to be regularly breaking the law!

So the CNN article states that about 90% of all student athletes score in the high teens on their ACT. That is slightly below the national average of all students at 20 on their ACT. While there are some serious problems with athletes and higher education, based on this data, is this an epedemic or is it a case of being blown more out of proportion than needed? Yes, there is the serious issue at UNC and Florida State the last decade, but is it really fair to the hundreds of universities that have made some serious gains in educating their student athletes? I don't know.

Seriously Bogs, you are kidding me! Boycott the state of Florida and give your support to the dumpster fire that is CA, morally....seriously!?!?! Texas, a state where its literally shoot first and ask questions later Florida and TX arent far off except our immigrents come by the Gulf and theirs the Rio. Get off you moral high horse! You sound like Justin Timberlake and Jay-z who said they would boycott the state but only until the money called. Disney's main office is in Florida, do you think the money you spend there in CA only stays at the Disney in CA. Give me a break, I dont have time argue anymore your points, frankly I would rather just drop it. But instead of you moral high horse think the only people you are hurting by "sticking it to the man" is the regular Joe. Just a lil food for thought too, 90% of the whack jobs come down here from up NORTH!!! Don't you live in Ohio, with a city near bankruptcy, a dude that locked woman up for decades, another dismembers woman and puts em in trash bags, and the fucking Buckeyes!! What's that about people in glass houses? It not hard for people to boycott Ohio, whether intentionally or not.

Oh relax, bro! Thanks for paying attention to me though! I will take a closer look at TX and CA!

What this is really about is shocking those who take this bull shiit as business as usual. I can't tell you how many people I know who wanted to gush about the NC game. Fuck FSU, fuck the SEC, and fuck all the corrupt programs. You saw two announcers practically blowing a kid with whom there is enough evidence to indict for rape in any honest jurisdiction in the land. You live there; you love your state, clean it up. You love college football? Pressure everyone to clean it the fuck up. Don't giggle like school girls at the score of a game played by rapists and worse. Tell 'em you won't do it!

Thanks for the advice Bugs. You clean up Ohio and I will work continue to work on Florida. I never giggled at the score of the game because I hate both those programs for the very reasons you hate em! But you sit on you high horse, make asinine statements and troll the board. Florida is the third largest populated state and packed with northern transplants and immigrants so its bound to have issues that make the news based on the number of people that live here.

Take your own advice and work on cleaning it up, but will you be on your moral high ground and not watch ND play FSU next season because the ratings will generate $ for that school and this terrible state??? Did you enjoy the Miami, ND game in 2012....I think Miami made some money on that appearance?

ththetheee thats all folks!

You keep bringing up "northern transplants" like my grandparents and all their friends are these carpet-bagging gang bangers that are giving the The Great State of Florida a bad name. I'm pretty sure the retirees aren't the problem in Florida, at least according to the news that makes it all the way back up here to the northeast (where we have surprisingly few instances of zombies whacked out on bath salts eating people on highway exit ramps - maybe we are all just waiting until we retire and move to Florida?).

Every state has it's fair share of nut jobs and institutional problems. Nobody should be blaming people from somewhere else for their state's issues.

Well it depends. It would be great to see a breakdown by sport. If the 10% that is scoring lower is all football and basketball players at FBS schools then there is a problem. Now if it is spread out amongst all the sports and all the different divisions of the NCAA then not so much.

Yes Rhode cause the only people moving to FL are retirees. My point/beef is making blanket ignorant statements like Bogs is making to punish the state because of some bad apples is ridiculous. Which is why I make the extreme statements of northern transplant and immigrants, not all of em are bad. One can always dig into some whacked out story from any state, for instances, marathon bombers in Boston, Aaron Hernandez... MA has lost its moral compass and shall be smited. BTW The victim in the Cannibal attack in Miami was a Brooklyn, New York native and the attacker was Haitian, transplants.

Just saw your last edit and that is my point.

Yeah we basically agree. I'm not boycotting anything. I go to Florida every year to visit family and thaw out, and I watched the shit out of the NCG. I just don't want my people getting blamed for crazy shit that goes on in your state! Haha.

Agree with that. And that is probably how it would shake out if the report was ever done. Maybe the bigger question is, even with those that do graduate, are they able to utilize the degree in which they "earned." I would say that percentage is much, much higher. Obviously, I would want to look at that data with all graduates to compare as I think there are a number of grads that don't get much utilization from their degree - athlete or not.

Will this self imposed boycott extend to the Florida State game on October 18th, and include the scheduled games with Miami? Like the Auburn/Florida State game, you will be missing a lot of very good football. Hey, Bogs, you got any tenant farming relatives from County Mayo who failed to pay their rent to Charles Boycott in a timely fashion?

I swear if these high horse 'pay the athlete' pundits on ESPN and the like really gave two shits about the kids/athletes and their well-being they'd start pumping the APR rankings and start talking about APR National Championships to the point this kind of stuff would be a major black mark on the schools... but not only do they not sell it, it's ignored completely, so much so that the same pundits sell this as 'happening everywhere'.

EXACTLY!

Congratulations!

I went into this thread with the feeling that no one saw the fact that college football players are raping women and getting away with it, is a big problem. And some of those same people wonder why 14, 15, and 16, year old boys who see what is happening are doing it, and not having as easy a time getting away with it.

Now there are two things at play, the true rapist mentality, and stupidity. Most of the younger copycats are just plain stupid. But some of these guys are rapists. The line; how defined? Normal sex is about something from love and intimacy to sexual gratification. Rape is not. It is about power. It is almost as if a rapist, has that normal "module" desiring intimacy and sexual gratification replaces with one that want a "power" overdose of domination. It is the same thing, by the way, with a batterer. That is also about domination and power. The leading cause of death among pregnant women in the US is murder; THAT is a telling statistic.

So all these people that are kissing Florida State's and Winston's asses are feeding this image of female domination as an appropriate expression. Of course it is not.

I said some pretty insulting things to some. I didn't expect to get the results I got, but I will take responsibility for what I said. That kind of hyperbole is an old and trusted writers tool. Look back to the New Testament and Jesus likening a rich man's chances of entering Heaven to that of a camel getting through the eye of a needle!

I really hope all of you that found yourself upset at my words, could try to fathom the upset that the fathers, brothers, husbands, and children of rape victims feel. A rape victim is usually raped twice. Once is the crime, and the second is by the system that attempts justice.

Any of you who have ever held the had of a victim or made a decision for a victim, when you know they would be destroyed on the stand, because the perpetrator had the sense to hire the biggest prick of an attorney possible, will know what I mean.

See, I feel outrage when these kids are first abused, and then allowed to go out and abuse others. And then they serve as a model on how to get away with it!

So carry on by all means. Until the person that gets hurt is in your family. Or stop being smug about it and find a way to make a difference.

Honestly Bogs who on IE has kissed Winston's ass?? Personally I think he is a POS, and I agree with what you are saying about players like him and programs like FSU's but to bring it up in the way you have is irrational and ignorant. Pretty cool though that you are comparing your post on IE to the writings in bible. My problem with you is you made an ignorant self righteous statement and when confronted with it you play it off as, "Wow, why is everyone so upset???".
I agree with you on FUCK Winston, FSU, SEC, but your intial comment, I found issue with, was you ignorance to blast state and the people of it. Especially when fault can be found with every place by someone.

No. From the beginning I told you that one of the, if not the biggest advantage of joining the ACC from my perspective was getting our hands on these kinds of teams. I hope we decimate FSU. I will watch with relish. If Winston comes back, (I have know idea if he will), I hope we tear off his head and defecate down his esophageal opening, so to speak. I will supply the toilet paper!

I have ancestors that supported all kinds of uprisings and fought at every chance they could find. My ancestors took their names from the leaders of the clans from the Hy Many, and we have records today of at least three that were hung, drawn and quartered for their insolence, rebellion, and refusal to quit fighting, including one by direct order (supposedly) of William of Orange. Surprising, isn't it?

Finally, dirty programs do not produce good football, imo. I guess my cost for payoff is greater than a few athletic plays, when programs treat their players as bad as the English landlords did my ancestors. I found enough to satisfy my needs watching ND - Rutgers, and MSU beat up Stanford, thank you. There are four programs that don't treat their players badly.

I'm a little uncomfortable with condemning Winston considering the kinds of things that ND players have dealt with. I'm fine with condemning the institution as they seem to have a track record of creating an awful culture.

William of Orange? Is that the same William who defeated James at the Battle of Boyne? The same William, King of England, with homosexual inclinations? With you, I would gladly piss into the open mouth of that fuckin Prod. But the Winston boy? There are many conflicting reports, and I am not about to post hearsay from my niece, nephews, and neighbors, who do not concur with the rape allegations. Coverups, for law enforcement and college administrations, are very difficult to pull off. As Joel Chandler's creation Uncle Remus used to say - You can put out da fire, but whatcha gonna do with the smoke?

Don't ever underestimate the power of towns like Tallahassee, Columbus, Austin, Tuscaloosa, etc. Their main source of income is going to the University, and the University's main source of income is football. They are going to protect that by any means possible.....

Happy Valley covered up a pedophile for how many years? I have to believe many people knew what was going on but they also knew how important State Penn and football were to the town, there was a huge cover-up IMO.

Thanks to an international fan base. a deep pocket alumni association, and NBC, the Notre Dame football franchise prints money. South Bend, Indiana's main source of income is Notre Dame. Have there been huge coverups, by the legal system and police, in South Bend?

Golson gets suspended for an entire season for what at a football factory would cause him to run an extra lap in practice. Are you serious?

Your obviously pushing this troll thing a little far if your trying to compare the morality and ethics of ND's Administration to the Football Factories mentioned above. ND students actually attend class, they actually have to be students and not hide out for 4 years in the football practice facility.
