from all reports it just looks like he was "good" with Trumbetti, I don't think he did enough to get his 4th.
Luatua was quiet as he has been for a while and will get his 3rd star
McKenzie will get his 4th star
Bars should drop a little, but look who he went up against.

For whatever reason they are standing by his ranking it sounds like, which is laughable. He won the lineman challenge which shows some level of physical and athletic traits. Beat Lorenzo Carter. Also, how many 3 star commits are brought to one of the two main AA games. He's in the range of 6'4 230-250 and was all over the practice field. If thats a 3 star fuck the rating system. I would take 8 Trumbetti's every cycle. If you can't tell it irritates me beyond belief. Sorry for the rant.

Amen! I don't get it either. Trumbetti is a stud and I think he more than held his own with the lineman challenge and the whole week in an elite All-American setting. Just a head scratcher as to why he is only a three star.

This is a bit absurd. Not saying he had a Chris Jones type showing, but Chris jumped from nobody to :s::s::s::s::s: #2 DE with his play at the game. Trumbetti does well all week and doesn't garner shit? What's up with that?

He has 4 years to show them how wrong they were. I'm glad he'll be doing it while wearing a gold helmet.

Wasnt trumbetti non existent in the actual game? I didn't see the game, but it sounded like he didn't do anything. I don't think the obstacle course garners much credibility. He sounded good in one on ones though. Idk, if he didn't stand out in the game idk why he deserves an increase in rankings.

It was his whole week of practice that was apparently impressive. He didn't play much because he had a minor injury hampering him.

Because his initial ratings are ridiculous. It's not like people think he should be a top 10 player, they think that someone who had a great week of practice where he thoroughly impressed and then flashed superior athleticism deserves to be a 4:s: player.

The better question is what on earth justifies someone with his size/speed/athleticism combination being a 3:s: player?

usc said no thanks?

Beat me to it.

I'm not sure why, but lately I think interest from other schools has really lagged and he's starting to realize his options are limited and we are the best of his options.

damn i hope you find who pisses in ur cheerios every morning...man u are one grumpy ass person on here all the time

Re-read the last few pages of this thread and tell me that we're not the ones acting like assholes. Everyone went from being excited about his commitment and when we found out he might have second thoughts (OMG, is that even possible), everyone jumped on the "fuck this kid, I don't want him at ND" bandwagon. It is what it is. That's not me being grouchy. Maybe I'm just one of the few people that still want Tyler at ND.

He's just a straight shooter, calls it like he sees it. This board can be bipolar at times and anytime a kid keeps his options open we have a tendency to be overly critical. As fans it can be frustrating to watch kids that we hope to see play on our team waiver but it is how the game is played.

Holy shit you guys should read the article... here's a snippet: “I don’t think I’m 100 percent yet, but I gave my word to Coach Denbrock, so I’m still committed to (Notre Dame),” he discussed. “I’m just going to keep in touch with Alabama and some of the local schools.”

Full link: Luatua Still Listening To Schools

The article is mind boggling. What an absolute joke. We should cut bait and go all in on Schultz. Even if he comes here, he has all the red flags of the typical flaky California kid who busts/transfers.

2/10, do not want.

Everything I told you in a PM a month ago, I still believe 1000%. Nothing has changed with him. Because this is a recruit's thread, I'll just leave it at that.

Edit: I think Schultz is going to Stanford, and even with that, I'm fine going all in on him and coming up with nothing at TE.

I know you weren't directing it at me, but I've always wanted him. Now, has my attitude changed because of his tweets and other articles? Why yes it has. I still want him, but given that he's going to lose a star, tweets that he wants USC to come after him and then says he's all Irish leaves room for pause. I just wonder if there is something going on in the background were not aware of (lack of motivation huge ego or something else)? I could very well be off base, but something just doesn't seem straight.
