Worst Fans in College Football?

Seems like most of us are on the same page in terms of criteria. Common things I'm seeing include:

1. Ignorance about college football in general
2. Ignorance about their own team
3. Ignorance about team history
4. Obnoxiousness
5. Treatment of other fans
6. Cockiness (especially in relation to success)
7. Blind conference loyalty
8. Lack of general intelligence
9. Lack of support when team is bad

Am I missing anything?

sc fans are by far the worst for me. Walking around Disneyland a sc fan looks at my hat and my wife's sweatshirt only to say F the Irish! Way to ruin "The Happiest Place On Earth" sc fan!!!

My nephew is a lifelong Purdue fan and ticketholder; he has told me multiple stories of obnoxious, classless Ohio State fans driving in to W Lafayette, getting all liquored up, and screaming obscenities and insults, and ridiculing and mocking hapless Purdue players. Not enough to crush them; you have to go to their stadium and humiliate them. No comparable stories about any other school's fans.

Didn't attend ND, but was a fan from birth. Went to a different private, liberal arts, Catholic school. I think I'm still good, no?

It's all about perspective.

CFB fans with a lack of perspective are the obnoxious jackasses that annoy the shit out of everyone.

Programs like OSU and PSU have the worst fans, because they are literally barricaded together behind their state lines and do nothing but shoot smoke up each other's asses about how great they are all day long. They don't hear an opposing viewpoint all day, and it strengthens their myopic view.

Bammers have Barners, and Skunkbears have Sparties to keep them in check, OSU and PSU have nobody.

The Internet has helped cure this in some cases (general message boards like Rivals Main), and hurt it in others (sunshine factories like IE, 11 Warriors, etc.)

I had a Bama fan talking smack to me at Disney World 2 days after the NC Game in line for the monorail. I was wearing a ND hat.

I told him I am with my family and he should have some class and act his age, he had to be 50-60 years old. His kids pulled him away from me and apologized profusely. They were young adults, late teens, early 20's, clearly they took after their mother.

If I wasn't holding my 3 year old son and with my 67 year old mother, I would have said a lot worse. I can't even fathom talking trash to a many holding a child. Pathetic piece of sh!t, to this day I get all worked up thinking about that classless a-hole.

For me personally it's the fighting Illini fans. I live in southern Illinois so naturally there are a lot of Illini fans around here. A good majority of them when they see me wear my ND gear tell me that Notre Dame sucks because the basketball team has come up short quite a bit over the last few years. (I dont follow college basketball so is this true?) When I tell them that I'm a fan of ND because of football and how if we played our best the Irish would crush the Illini they tell me they don't watch college football. However when the Illini pull a good year out like 07 and 2010 they're talking about how great the football team is and how they're pumped for the bowl and they're getting tickets to the bowl because they love Illini football. The next season when the only bowl the Illini are going to is the failure pile in a sadness bowl they're back to only caring about college basketball. Yeah...Fuck the Illini!

LSU in the 2006 Sugar Bowl was the worst I experienced at ND. People were just cold-cocking ND fans on the way out of the game. Michigan was also a rough crowd, but I never saw things escalate like at the Superdome.

I was at that game and never saw anything like that.

Then again, the SuperDome is pretty big so I am not saying it did not happen. New Orleans brings out the worst in everyone, though, and considering that football had just come back to New Orleans after Katrina, I would cut them a little slack for verbal stuff, but physical assault is just never right.

attitude: Georgia, Georgia, OH Lord Georgia (Some of the cockiest fans I've met and I'm not sure why? They haven't won sh*t in decades)

Been to a lot of games over the years. For me, the small contingent of LSU fans that give them their reputation are the worst. Some Buckeye fans can be a handful at times as well as some Michigan fans. I guess at the end of the day, every school has that small element that ruins it for the majority of respectful fans. Heck, even got talked trash at a Vandy game by a few Commodore fans in the past. Vandy... smh.
