I think they make a big run at Mike Munchak former player and PA native.
His only college experience was when he played. I think he's a good guy, but I don't think he would be very successful as a college head coach.

PSU boards disagree. They are now saying that one of the top targets for replacing O'brien if he leaves will be Munchak.
With bowl games wrapping up shortly, we'll probably see more rumors on vacancies.
This. Once the top tier coaches get done coaching in their bowl games and big dominoes start falling (Texas job, Briles to Redskins possibly, etc.) this is going to turn into one of the wildest silly seasons in recent memory. Buckle up.

This isn't necessarily NFL related, but it's amazing the short leash in football compared to CBB. I feel like you can win 25 games and never lose your job in NCCA hoops.
The hell is going on at Texas??.. It's way too quiet... You have to think they move very quickly after today's game, no?

Redskins inquiring about David Shaw in addition to names already thrown around...
They said the skins reached out to him about 6 weeks ago. But he is not interested in the NFL
He's not interested in the NFL? Seriously?

Idk why anyone is surprised. It's his alma mater. I wouldn't want to leave ND to coach anywhere else.
That's why I wouldn't be surprised if O'Brien stayed at PSU.
He could literally make double or triple the money in the NFL. I guess job security is a plus, and with middle eastern oil princes and the like endowing his assistant coaching positions he can now actually retain key guys like no previous Stanford coach.
