I'm telling you guys basically the only thing I am "well sourced" for is ND athletic department happenings and politics. I haven't heard a single "Kelly to Detroit might happen" and I've heard a lot of "I really, strongly doubt Kelly is going anywhere."

In the offseason I really thought Kelly might be gone prior him signing the contract extension. There were a LOT of feathers ruffled with his Eagles interview. I don't know any of the particulars of what he signed, but after he did every person I talked to said unequivocally that he was all-in on ND for the foreseeable future and wouldn't be leaving for a while. Does that change with the Lions job open? Maybe, but I really don't think so.

Thnaks Lax.
I just can't see him interviewing again.

Jesus I never said I was a source. I quoted an individual and posted the information here, then explained what I thought was going on. I never claimed to have inside info or any info other than what I've read with regards to this case.... Geez

Don't get your panties in a bunch, I said "no offense". Besides you're going to need those panties in the not too distant future. lol

You can forget Dungy. He's not taking another coaching position. His current position allows him to work with his ministries in the prison system as well as other charitable work.

More detail needed.

he's done very well with less superior athletes.

very similar to what Kelly did in Cincy imo.

He's a great defensive mind and i was pretty impressed with Louisvilles' Defense tonight. No reason we can't look the same with our personnel.

If Texas hires him, i think they hit a HR imo. He's a true college coach and great recruiter that will make it easy to keep the road block in Texas for recruiting against A&M, Tech, and TCU

He wouldn't be a bad hire, I just want a coach who is more ready for ND and not one with a SEC background. I feel like he has done very well with his talent, but some of his playcalling and style of play on defense has cost him wins in the past. He played soft zone in a good deal of games, that led teams back in it. Teddy B and some of the talent pull the game out for him.

Kelly did way more with the talent he had. He was a proven champion and is much more of a micromanager and on top of everything. Very key to being a HC at ND.

I do think he's a good recruiter (although Ive heard rumors of dirty) and he is likely to stay at this level. All in all, my original stance was probably to tough. He'd be good, but Im hoping for better.

Cmon now. What city in this great country needs more charity help than Detroit. Plus if he was in Detroit he could help people avoid prison as opposed to help them after they get in.

But how hard is for him to say i am not interviewing with the lions and i am not leaving ND?

Because he isn't sure what he wants.

Agree, I'd love for him to clear the air ASAP. He must be looking to bend the admin over for another perk.

Has he literally been even asked about? I mean seriously... has anyone even floated the question to him yet about the Lions since the end of the season? The answer is no.

Are you expecting him to issue press releases and statements every time a rumor pops up?

But would that be a bad thing? The only comments I can remember from Kelly regarding the NFL are that he "wasn't offered the Eagles position so" blah.

If by some chance he leaves would Mack brown be a good hire for us? I know it's an unlikely scenario and I want to keep Kelly but I like Mack brown and it would be neat to see him coach here if we need the coach.

No. If Kelly leaves, we need young blood IMO.

He doesn't have to address the fans, only the administration. And at this point he may have done that. But, our site seems to be about the only place that has him linked to an NFL job. So the administration may not have a reason for an explanation. I've seen media speculation that the Lions want him, but never a legit report they contacted him or pursued him or anything.

I expect him to have a log in on this site and address all rumors with us. Anything less is unacceptable.

Still don't see it happening, I know Ford Jr (for once) is making the calls on this and will be letting go of Lewand and Mayhew and starting over from scratch so I don't see how they hire a college coach outside of Obrien. The logical choices would be Whisehunt or Zimmer.

What about recruits tho? If we're hearing these rumors, certainly recruits, or at least opposing coaches are hearin these and can use them against us.

“@AdamSchefter: League sources said Lions ownership is “on the fence” about HC Jim Schwartz’s job status but it is “leaning towards keeping him.””

The only 'legitimate' rumor out there that bk is interviewing with the lions was started by you.

I'm just wondering, do you think Bryant will transfer before or after bk is the lions coach?

I agree with this. If we have these thoughts and discussion, you know recruits are. Especially at all star games where some are still undecided and some arerecruiting others to other programs. Thats a scary thought

I've been a Lions fan all my life unfortunately. I'm not a bandwagon jumper or fair weather fan. But I will seriously consider jumping ship if he stays.

I live in the horrid state of Michigan. Actually locally on a lot of the radio shows and such it has been stated that he would be the Lions top guy to go after if they fire JS. No rumors of interviewing, but the thought that it is possible is there locally.

Yep. I most certainly started these rumors. Try a quick google search or twitter search.

And was I wrong on GB? Probably. But as I've said many times I saw no way possible that GB would be back after hearing things from players on the team about Greg.

Hopefully the Vikings kick our ass today and that is the last straw. Lol. A win could be a net loss and mean he returns.

The lions wanting bk and bk taking an interview are completely different though. I know you know that, so I'm not trying to be a prick, I'm jut saying. There's nothing out there to think bk would be interested at all.
