I'll give you Boise. They had tricks and that worked for them for a few years. However, they have come back down to earth. This year, they lost by 17 to BYU, 32 to Washington, SDSU in overtime, and 1 to this bad Fresno team.

Johnny summed it up. They can't compete year in and year out. Every year, they may have a team that would have a 30% chance of beating a top 14 team. Still no room for them in the inn in my book.

I still think it's different for even a Boise St. to beat the one decent team they played each year, as opposed to having to play three or more good teams a year, like most major conference teams do each year. BSU would have lost two or three at least in any of those years, if they had to play a few good teams. They never had to play teams the caliber of Georgia and Bama, say, in back to back weeks. It's a lot easier to be healthy late in the season, or get up for your ONE game against decent competition, when you play their sort of schedule. They really didn't/don't have the level of talent of other conferences. The number of NFL players from that conference proves that much.

This must have been something pretty egregious.
