Shots are a wormhole to the black hole . If your friends force you just throw it over your shoulder right when they are downing theirs. Then start fake coughing real loud.

If it will be a all day event chug a whole bottle a water every hour.

If you mix liquor like rum and coke or vodka tonic, the carbonation acts like a needle that injects the alcohol into your blood stream.

Stick to the beer and have a blast...ohh take two multivitamins, two alieve and a large glass of water if you are coherent before you crash!

Great point about hydration, I've heard coconut water is good to drink for re-hydration. I tried it and I think it tastes awful though.

well boys, ive waited a long time to post in this thread, and i waited till this day to do so.. tonight at midnight i turn 21, and i will be undulging in as many drinks i wish as i want for the rest of my life.

that being said, i have no idea what i want to be my first legal drink...so...

suggestions?

fire away, because the disgusting shit that my friends will be handing me all night ensures my demise.

A shot of Grand Marnier. This will get you right for the night ahead. After that, anything else is good.

This is my only reference that I know what I am talking about:

love beer, but due to the age ole concept that beer and liquor in large quantitates tend to make an appearance later when mixed, unfortunately ill be avoiding beer for the most part tonight,

21 shots will not be happening, though a cool concept never saw it as rewarding in the end.

i expect the kitchen sink from my friends, so im open to taking suggestions on the few drinks ill have a say in.

taste in not a huge concern, as I imagine ill be pretty tuned up from rum/vodka poured from the finest plastic before heading to the bars.

big whiskey guy
not huge on vodka, but i can drink it.

In college we always started off the birthdays with White Russians. In retrospect starting a night of heavy drinking with a milk/cream product probably wasn't the brightest. I say start the night with a nice glass of whisky to sip on while you eat a nice meal.

Great stuff. Why get drunk off of warm Natty Light, MD 20/20 and bottom shelf vodka on your 21st? You can get a bottle of delicious Grand Marnier for ~$25 at Costco, and that's enough to get 3-4 people plenty drunk.

I drank a lot of White Russians as an undergrad. Had no taste for shitty beer, so I was the guy mixing drinks in solo cups from my dorm room. As a side benefit, it was a great way to meet girls during dorm parties.

On that subject, this might be helpful for Greensox: the Flaming Dr. Pepper. The "flaming" portion is entirely for show, so feel free to eliminate the 151. Basically, mixing a shot of Amaretto with half a can of any American Adjunct Lager makes it taste like Dr. Pepper.

Older women or cool guys watching the big lebowski drink them

I hope there's no sarcasm here.

A glass of Chateau Ste. Michelle Pinot Gris 2012. I am using it for my sauce for dinner tonight so it seems like a waste not to drink some. For those interested dinner tonight is butternut squash Ravioli in a sage cream sauce.

I've heard of Amaretto and beer making the dr pepper taste before I believe, I've had a shot of 151 (a half shot really) on my 19th birthday and that stuff is no joke.

The dr pepper amaretto concoction has always intrigued me, I also absolutely love jäger, might have to drop a few jäger bombs tonight.

As a certified "old fart," I've yet to have a White Russian. Or a Red Russian. Or a purple Russian. Or a Black Russian ...

Had some awesome butternut squash tortellacci with sage cream sauce yesterday at the Walnut Room in Chicago. Capped it off with an eggnog brandy.

Oskar Blues Ten Fidy. One of the best stouts out there. If you like Stouts buy it and enjoy (though it is rather expensive).

We just put Green Bullet by Green Flash on tap at work. It's triple IPA, 10.1% ABV. I didn't think I'd like it, because I figured a triple would be pretty hoppy. But it was good, it has a coffee flavor that I associate with porter. The stuff's expensive though. We're charging $12.50 for a 10 ounce pour, and we're not even hitting our target margin at that price.
