My cousin Colleen is very good friends with Nic. They grew up together because my Aunt Marry is best friends with Mrs.weishar. I was talking to my cousin and she said he is just a wonderful kid and always wanted to go to Notre Dame. He almost went to Michigan because he never ended up meeting Brian Kelly until his 4th or 5th time he was on campus. But right when he met Brian Kelly she said he knew there was no where else he wanted to be. Only reason I bring this up is because I'm watching the Georgia vs UTjr game and they said Worley was on campus for three days and never met Brian Kelly. Not sure if he was gone or what. But basically we are getting a wonderful kid who truly loves ND. she said when she visited MiZZOU with him the whole trip he was talking about Notre Dame with her.

Nic Weishar, TE, Chicago (Ill.) Marist- The Notre Dame commit has been exceptionally productive on the field this season and is up to 233 pounds. Weishar also snagged a spot on the roster for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Great hands and his frame appears to be filling out nicely.

Marist is not in the Catholic League, they are in the ESCC.. Biggest competition they have is Benet now - play this weekend (Benevetti's team) and Joliet Catholic - Ty Isaac's old team. They played St. Rita to open the season and lost, but they went for 2 a few times. The catholic league is stacked, Marist is not in that.

Ha no worries.. We were in the Catholic League for about 2 years when I was in HS.. Were getting smoked, program turned around when it went Coed and they hired Pat Dunne.. Like an Oregon offense, but the D is still coming around.

They did play Rice.. Rice is kind of more a neighborhood rivalry.. Its 2 miles North of Marist down Pulaski.

Nic was on a local public access sports show this week. They knocked off the #1 seed in the playoffs and have a big game tomorrow. He has been playing D for the first time this year and has a few interceptions. Doing whatever the team asks. I went to his HS and am buddies with his Coach Pat Dunne. He will be a great player at ND. He's a great kid from a great family. He comes on around 12:30 after the coach who is the first segment.

I actually asked me aunt who I don't see anymore because of a divorce about Nic and she just said how much better of a person he is then a football player. Really excited to have this kid in the fold. This was the first recruit I actually got like some personal insight on and its amazing how recruiting and visits play such a major role.
