To all of my Irish brothers and the few sisters on this board, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving holiday. Be safe if you're traveling and leave room for the pie.

BTW....One of my favorites that I haven't had in a while, but will have tomorrow is Sugar Cream pie. What's yours?

Happy Thanksgiving all.

My favorite isn't a desert. A few years ago my wife and I were kidding around about wrapping the turkey in bacon. Well, she did it and now we do it every year. The turkey is really good, but the bacon is amazing.

Ooops. Just posted over on the "Holiday Traditions" thread, but will here, too. Favorite part of dinner, before dessert? Dirty rice and sausage/cornbread stuffing. Favorite dessert -- plain, but heavily-spiced, pumpkin pie.

In case I don't back here today or tomorrow, my best to all for Thanksgiving.

My first Thanksgiving home in a long time, I'm really excited, hoping all of you Have a Happy Thanksgiving too.

Turkey, baked macaroni, sweet potatoes, eggplant dressing, gravy, cappuccino cheesecake, mmmm. But the best is File' Gumbo.

Happy Thanksgiving, Irish#1... and to everyone on Irish Envy. It's always a privilege to talk Notre Dame football with so many intelligent and well-informed fans and/or football enthusiasts. I learn more than I am able to give back from this community, so thank you all.

As for favorite foods, I'm always happy with homemade enchiladas and red chile. Story of my life.

Peace, y'all!

When did any derivative of the F*** word ever become OK to slip through the filter?

haha
I've seen it like 4 or 5 times in the past week.

Anywho...my late mother's baked corn recipe is to die for, and so easy to make...that's the one thing that I really looked forward to about tomorrow as a kid...now she's not around to make it anymore...but I have the recipe and have made it since a few times.

We started doing this as well. It is awesome. My wife lays it out like a cross-stitch over the whole bird. She always made a great turkey, but her gravy is even more amazing. It takes the right touch to get homemade gravy, but man its good.

Her desert is a Mexican chocolate pie- Dark chocolate coats the crust of a sensational creamy chocolate filling...hoo boy, let's eat!

But be careful, fellas. Don't burn your birds.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Unfortunately I have to work.

I just wanted to share that if your deciding to go out shopping on thanksgiving, please think of the people that HAVE to work, and please be respectful and patient while shopping.

My fave. Pumpkin Pie!

I'm sure she's happy that something like that reminds you of her. My mom passed back on Jan 1 in '71 when I was 20. She had this recipe for something called Xmas brownies, that weren't anything like brownies. Anyway, my wife insists I make a batch every year as a little reminder of her.
