guessing he is meaning the "Star position" slaughter played on certain teams to be more athletic on spread and option teams

Yes, he can be utilized as a big safety or small LB depending on the type offense we play. Big safety against spread teams especially those with move TE's that have become the rage. He's the kind of guy teams would like to have play against the Eiferts of the world. Also can drop down to LB like Slaughter did against the option teams like Navy, AF, Georgia Tech, etc. A good DC can find different ways to utilize his skill set.

II says staff feels very confident with Williams. Proximity to home is a big plus and he's a great fit for ND personally. Mom is a sheriff.

Wasn't there a graduating senior sometime in the past few years whose mom was a sheriff or some sort of officer of the law? I wanna say Hughes or Jonas Gray.

I'll add that Prister said he sees tremendous upside in both Williams and Hill. You can't teach that type of explosion off the ball.

I think Jonas' mom was some sort of police officer.

What I like about those two and Sykes is the way they play the game. They play every down as if the result of the game depended on it

Who's this Fister guy?

Fister is a person who constantly tweets recruits thinking he is doing more good than harm, which is completely stupid.

Fister makes a majority of this board mad.

Fister needs to sniff the scratch n sniff at the bottom of a pool...

I have come to conclusion recently that I am going to use his name for real life situations though. If a recruit doesn't come to ND because of crazy fans, I am going to start saying we got Fistered...

Kind of like how I have been getting Joique'd in fantasy football this year...

Supposedly Michigan has been coming at him HARD and might get him on campus twice in the coming weeks. I really hope we can flip Jhonny, I think he has a very high ceiling.

Would love to get Williams too. Michigan is in desperation mode after losing Hand and this season starting to go south on them.

Something to keep in mind going forward that some might forget…. Michigan is not the hometown school, despite him being in state. He could ride his bike (it would take a couple hours) to ND's campus. Michigan is on the entire other side of the state. This kid lives in ND country.

I have absolutely no idea why grown adults would ever think that it's a good idea to contact kids through the internet. It's creepy. Chris Hansen should show up at Fister's house.

Your spot on Wooly. I grew up in South Bend and later Niles, MI. Berrien Springs is not far at all from the South Bend area (or as the locals call it "Michiana"). Lots of love for ND in that area. Couldn't hurt that their team name is the "Shamrocks", or at least it used to be.

Yeah. Berrien Springs gets South Bend TV, the South Bend Tribune. It's on the St. Joe River. It's basically the South Bend metro area. Ann Arbor's at least three hours away.
What I don't get about Williams, though. If he's that close, has he never been to an ND game before? Camped there? You'd think we'd have some sort of relationship prior to offering last week.
Either way, he'd be a good addition to this class.

Sat a row over from the recruits today. Williams is every bit of 6'5", maybe taller. He's basically the same size as Blankenship.

Per Wiltfong, visit went well and the feeling is he could flip any time.

What a great weekend for ND football.
