complete opposite of what i see..but im just a social worker
I didn't watch the tape, was just throwing that out as a possibility, but if you think he shows enough speed, them I'm good with it.

First of all, it's "you're". Second, the very first play and the one at the 1:30 mark are beautiful. I like the offer. He plays w an attitude.

I went to a Buffs website and they're a bit taken aback how quickly it switched. Little do they know that Loy is horribly inaccurate.Guys we're good, Loy already CB'd him to ND.
That being said, let's not act like its a good thing that we are whiffing on every highly ranked LB recruit we touch, and because of that, are throwing offers to 2/3 star prospects like they candy to fat kids.
But at the same time, during the bye week is when coaches are going to have the time to review the film of players who blow up during the senior year. It's not hard to fly under the radar.
I actually liked this kid's film. Are five-star studs preferred? You bet. But I'd be more inclined to think it's a "reach" if it's a later addition (January) and not just part of what I assume is the result of a bye week under-the-radar analysis by the coaching staff.
This could also be the result of the relationship Notre Dame has built with Texas coaches since Brian Kelly came to South Bend, you know? And it's not like Brian Kelly doesn't have a history of just wanting athletes whom the staff can develop into the players. What's the difference between Tranquill and this guy in that regard? Not much.
(Plus I think it's important to remember that recruiting is equally the recruit's duty as it is the college coaches'. Flying under the radar is reallly easy. One of my best friends was an absolute stud in high school but never got offers or even looks because he never went to any off-season camps...whereas I did so I got attention. He finished the season 1st team all-state and whatnot, that but never got so much as a phone call (which he didn't really mind because he wanted to focus on academics).
The summer after graduation he was invited to an all-star game due to his all-state finish and went off for like ~220 receiving yards and 3 TDs, and game MVP. He went to bed that night with multiple preferred walk-on offers from D1 schools who told him they're shocked they'd never heard of him. The biggest difference out of high school between my friend and Dan Sanzenbacher is that Ted Ginn Sr made Dane a last-minute addition on his Big Ten bus-tour (Ted Sr does an amazing job of getting kids attention), where they went to Ohio State and Jim Tressel liked what he saw. It's that crazy sometimes.)

Do you believe that is why this flurry of 2/3 star offers is going out? Because just now, their film was evaluated? I don't.
I think the staff knows we are whiffing on elite talent and want the depth. So during the bye, they evaluated film of "project" players and started ripping off offers.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't get these types of guys or not be excited about them. What I am saying is that you can't build your team with them.
Which by all accounts, seems to be the direction we are going in regards of LB's. For every "project" player that turns into Luke Kuechly, there are 50 more that stay Bruce Heggie.
like his tape, always like to see a DE who has violent hands
considering his other offers and how shocked he was by the offer I feel real good about landing him.Hope we get him.

perfect replacement for prince shembo.
I hear ya, but being a D1 prospect doesn't make you capable of becoming a difference maker. We need difference makers. If this kid came in late in the cycle as a depth/project type guy, then yes... I would be psyched.
But it is apparently obvious that we filling NEED POSITIONS with project players instead of simply landing the elite prospects necessary to compete for championships.
I was saying this with Tranquill and now it seems to be the mantra of the class.
I don't know about the competition he's going up against but I think his film speeks for it's self.I am with Wooly on this one. It is almost a desperation offer. Lets be real fellas if he was that athletic the would be many more schools at least ways showing interest. A 2 star /low 3 star that could end up seeing descent playing time if we don't pick up our game on recruiting the position. This isn't how you compete with Bama, LSU, Ohio State. And I like Chris Brown just as much as you all do but look how he has turned out so far. It has really been a disappointment with that speed and he is getting less looks the some of the freshman. Like i said i really like Brown and want to see him do well. I imagine that these twins are great young men but that doesn't mean they need a ND football offer.
