Is his 24/7 ranking, the one on the first page, up to date? Seems awfully low for the best QB in the country. Not worried about it, just curious.

I think the short answer is "no." They haven't updated it in some time and Barnett has been blowing up recently. Ratings are pretty fluid, Brady White has already made an early move. I'd expect Dillman to likely move down some and Barnett to move up. I see Barnett likely with somewhere between a 95 and 98 rating when all is said and done.

JC Shurburtt was on Bill King this AM. He seemed fairly confident that Blake will verbal to ND "sooner than later". He also reiterated that he believes Smith, Luatua, and Quick will all be Irish, but added that it largely depends on the SC hire.

The #1 QB on our board popping for ND early? Would be so huge. Not only does it cement our depth chart of talented signal callers going forward, he will be a huge help in recruiting. Clausen and Crist both were huge reasons we were able to recruit well in those years. Elite QBs validate a class in their peers eyes, especially fellow offensive recruits.

Mike Frank on ISD said Dayne Crist was the best committed recruiter he has seen since following ND recruiting. A lot of that is just his personality, but an elite QB committed early for a class means a lot.

Rankings just haven't between updated yet. He'll likely be considered elite once they are.

Bretty Rypien was my boy until I saw Blake's junior film. This kid brings a completely different skillset than any QB ND has gotten in a long time. Can we fast forward to him signing his NLI?
