I watched his film again. With that film, his size and speed I don't understand how is a 3*

Only reason I think he is a 3 star is because he is raw and blew up kind of late after transferring into Notre Dunne. I love this kid's upside - really hope he is Irish.

If he commits along with JuJu then I would have to think if Dru comes on board he will play linebacker, I cant see taking three safeties.

I have a theory that Drue already knows the staff wants him as a middle backer and he is seriously weighing his options with Purdue because of it. Probably has the notion of I can go be a star a Purdue at the position where 17/18 year old me me wants to play or try to be a champion at ND playing a position that he, IMHO, has much more upside in.

That's a big and different change for him. Ultimately I think the kid will be successful regardless and I think Hazell is a great coach/recruiter.

But I agree Hendrix and JuJu are better for the back end and taking three Ss is not really an option this year, not with the other guys on the board at positions of need/want.

Bishop Dunne is a joke in football historically, and that probably adds to it. They were in my district (which wasn't great), and we would schedule them as the homecoming game because it was a guaranteed win. For perspective, the only other team we played for homecoming was a prison, and we beat both by a guaranteed 28+ without multiple D1 prospects on any of our teams. I'm actually having a hard time convincing my buddies that Dunne is any good because they were only ever good in basketball, but they must be on a heck of an upswing.

Just that the perception of the school isn't great, and he's probably had an uphill climb getting visibility compared to more traditional powerhouses.

IDK how it could be program visibility. He plays with Nick Watkins and Watkins's offer list in insane, while Hendrx's is pretty good, but lacks the big time offers like Watkins's.

Maybe Watkins does more camps? IDK.

Offers usually come after checking out a player or being alerted to him early on in their high school careers. Payton Hendrix transferred into that high school, thus delaying that process. We got in on him because his coaches alerted us to him when we were there to see Nick.

By that time, most major schools have their safety recruiting boards firm in place for the '14 class. Most schools have their commits, or are closing in on guys and don't want to risk losing them by offering another safety.

We luck out because our safety position is deep and we did not go after multiple safeties early, like we did at other positions, and it allows us to target Juju and now Hendrix, after becoming enamored with his skill set later on in the process.

According to his coach, Hendrix more than likely takes a couple more visits. But BGI still confident he ends up Irish.

That's interesting background. That sort of thing does seem to happen though. We used to play Woodberry Forest (C.J. Prosise, Doug Randolph and Greer Martini's school) when I was in high school and they were a complete joke. I still shake my head at the thought that Woodberry has had legit D-I power conference prospects in each of the last three years.

I do not know if this is relevant but Arkansas just picked up his third safety of the class with Santos Ramirez (a Louisiana kid with a LSU offer) who is slightly better rated than Hendrix. Maybe this can help our chances (assuming that Arkansas is the other team to beat).

I think this is very relevant, thanks for the info and I hope we get this kid

ND and Texas Tech out front, Arkansas in third. Loy still thinks he's Irish. Will be very surprised if he doesn't commit by the end of the month.

He had a great OV to Texas Tech and will take one to Arkansas this weekend. Decision should come shortly after.

Arkansas will have to blow him away to make up ground on the other two, who are way out in front.

He is a big, athletic, hard hitting safety. Would love to add him to the class.
