That would be a good one. And we could hopefully lure at least a mid-level SEC opponent. The opponent matters if you want to make it an event that excites recruits, you know?
Worst Shamrock game was Maryland a couple of years ago (though Wazzu in San Antonio was pretty bad, too).
Miami would be a good location one year, too.

We don't need Miami, we'll be playing a FL team most years with the ACC schedule. I'd say stick with TX with some Louisiana thrown in every 2/3 years unless we're able to get a home-and-home with the Longhorns going on a consistent basis. That would pretty much put us everywhere in the country.

Northwestern or Wisconsin in Lambeu or BC in Fenway, may not be ideal in regards to location of prospects but, would be awesome.

San Fran, Phoenix, NOLA, Houston, Dallas. If San Diego ever builds a new stadium that would be nice too. I want to say LA but it wouldn't be at the coliseum or the Rose Bowl so that doesn't really leave many options. I picked those areas for recruiting purposes. Personally I'd like to see games at Fenway and Wrigley.

This is also clearly not the place for this discussion.

He says he's set on the top 4 of ND, LSU, Texas AM and Oregon. His game visit went good. Had a great time watching Nix and got a lot of love from people when he went to the concession stand about replacing Nix. Most love he got from any fans. Feels like he can do what Nix does and thats what the coaching staff is telling him. Weary of Texas although he has been impressed with them for a while, because he doesn't know what will happen with Mack Brown and their on field performance.

e was blown away by the amount of support he received from the Irish faithful.

“It went really good. I had a great time hanging out and watching the football game,” he said. “I had a great time watching [Notre Dame All-American DT) Louis Nix. When I got up to walk to the concession stand I had about 30 people coming up to me telling me they needed my help to replace Louis Nix. It was really the most any fans had showed me they wanted me at their college.”

Mack has grown accustomed to nationwide fan fair already, but it is clear the love he felt from the Golden Domers really made an impact.

“It makes you feel real good,” he said. “It’s one of the things that has made me like their college. I just got the offer not to long ago and they are already extremely interested in me.”

One of the many things helping the Irish’s cause is the early playing time that would likely be in store for him if he chose Notre Dame, given that Nix is a senior and likely a first round NFL draft pick.

“What he is doing is something I feel like I could come in and help with,” he said, “The way the coaches talk to me, I think I can definitely come in and do what he is doing.”

Think we have made a great first impression here for a kid that will undoubtedly be at the top of our board for 2015. A&M is probably the team to beat right now, but we are definitely in the mix.

Well, that was fun while it lasted. With that said A&M could end up being pretty bad next year. Without Manziel and a garbage D it could get ugly.

Don't be surprised if SC doesn't go after Sumlin and if he takes the job I am sure many recruits will reconsider their commitment.

...is this your way of making us feel better?

Only with regards to Mack. Unfortunately I would not be surprised if Sumlin isn't targeted for the SC job and if he accepts we can only hope that Manzel is making Sumlin look like a better coach then he is.

Sumlin was pretty good at Houston too, considering the talent he had to play with.

(Maybe Case Keenum made him look better there too)

If I remember correctly he had good offenses but not good defenses at Houston. Is that correct?

I don't mean this negatively but who was the last big time player we got out of Texas?

Kap was a big time player pulled from Texas A&M.

Durham Smythe was a big time player pulled from Texas.

Torii Hunter is a stud.

I still think Baratti could be a real good safety if he can stay healthy, but I can understand not labeling him as big time.

Nick Watkins is going to be a big time pull (I really like Hendrix too).

I like all those players you guys mentioned but I'm talking like big time guys. LSU offers, A&M, Texas like we actually beat them out for a kid.
