There is strong stuff going around not from me. That he is looking at depth charts very closely and "afraid of competition"
per 24 7 Miami and South Carolina have the upper hand at the moment.

Why? We need kids who: (1) love ND; and (2) are prepared to work hard in practice regardless of their position on the depth chart. I've seen no indication that Moten checks either of those boxes, which means even if we got his verbal, he'd be a serious transfer risk.

It's just a rumor at the moment, but if true, it's a red flag.

How could any DT factoring in depth charts not consider us though lol

I hear ya Whiskey. I think the love of ND is stronger with some guys than others when they first get here and it develops from there. I also believe that recruits (good ones) are looking at depth charts all the time when they are making their decision. It's only natural. Of course we aren't going to hear that from their mouths. We hear of players shopping for "early playing time" a lot. That doesn't mean that they can't/won't compete or work hard. Now...if they dwell on it and make it public that they are looking at depth charts then you might be on to something. Let's see if the rumor is true.

I have always taken the position (wrongly sometimes) that if a recruit is worried about playing time or status on the depth chart then they will probably not push themselves as hard as needed. Most "elite" level athletes seek out the competition... it's what drives them to be better. And what better way to improve than to line up against players equal to or better than you every day in practice? With that, I would have to seriously consider taking a prospect if they demonstrated a concern for these things.

Jake Brown was at St. Thomas Aquinas doing an interview with Corey and he said that Anthony is going to be officially visiting ND for the USC game with him. It may be official as of today according to Corey. Jake has yet to speak with Moten himself so maybe he'll have more later.

He would be another huge pull if it happened. High quality DL are obviously a priority this class.

Interested to see how the staff approaches his recruitment. Do we push for him or are we going to sit back and work for Holley and Elam first. I don't know the answer so it'll be interesting to watch play out.

Hell, I'd take all three.

I really believe we are on the outside looking in with Elam right now. If Moten wants in you almost have to accept his commitment and hope for the best with the other two guys. I'm not sure how we could feel comfortable enough to NOT take him with no legitimate Nix replacements on board.

If you read back to my post on TJ's thoughts from 8/9, he seemed to infer that we are recruiting him but there are guys ahead of him. He also left it open to us recruiting him harder in the future. Not sure how accurate that info is but thats where my thought but this should be an interesting couple of weeks with this kid.

at this point we're going to need bodies up front so i'd say take him if he wants in.

Per rivals, no longer visiting for USC. Told them he's focused on Miami, South Carolina, and Florida state. Miami is the presumed leader.
