I like to hear that. Perfect recruit to cure some of our ailing at ILB.

I hear what you're saying, and don't take this the wrong way, but no 2015 recruit will cure any of our current or near term ailing as they likely won't play meaningful minutes until the 2016 season (i.e. 33 regular season games from now!). That's kind of like lauding a 2015 recruit to fill Nix's shoes. If we're still ailing by the time he steps on campus, it's going to be a looooong 23 months.

If you don't think Diaco and Kelly can develop ILBs by then, you might be rooting for the wrong coaches.

Agreed, fully aware that there is no short term benefit to the team. I was speaking more from a recruiting standpoint. It looks like we are gonna miss on one this year so I'll start to feel better if we can start to get some elite talent at ILB coming in no matter what class.

Had a good visit, and ND is high up on his list. Will try to come back for the USC game.

Wiltfong put down a prediction for Iowa a few months back on this kid. Anything said seem like that may be swinging away from them? I love the kids ability and hope we can lock up a LB early this year.

Got a big bump on 247 today. He's now #17 overall :s::s::s::s::s: and the #1 OLB.

It's nothing, mentions he's visited ND, tOSU and UM and will be visiting PSU this weekend.

Also mentions that he might go South to visit Clemson and S. Carolina.

That is odd. South Carolina schools are not well traveled destinations for Catholic School Ohio kids. It does seem to me that both schools are in need of LBs soon. Might be the #1 LB level talent though.

In recent weeks, Hilliard visited Michigan (for the Notre Dame game), Notre Dame (for the Michigan State game) and Ohio State (for the Wisconsin game). Here were some of Hilliard’s thoughts on his top schools:

* On Iowa – “I’ve been to Iowa once. C.J. went there on his official visit last week. I haven’t been out there in almost a year now. I will take that into some consideration. I talk to the Iowa coaches somewhat. It would be pretty cool to play with my brother. I am looking at every single school.”

* On Ohio State – “The atmosphere was really good. I like how the coaches interact with the players there. There is a lot of excitement there with everybody.”

* On Michigan – “That game was crazy. They had like a Super Bowl halftime show. The fans were showing their love. I got to talk to one of their coaches.”

* On Notre Dame – “I like their academics and campus life and a lot of things there.”

imo this comes down to us, iowa, and urban.

iowa could be going through a coaching change if things don't turn around for them.

Ferentz's contract is huge, Iowa probably cant afford to fire him. They will probably hope when the time comes they can move him up to AD or something or he retires.

I think it's an OSU/ND battle. The only reason he's looking at Iowa is his brother and the only reason his brother went there is because he didn't have the big offers that Justin has. I don't want to totally discount the brother angle, but I'd like to think his brother wouldn't pressure him to go there if he knows Justin has better options.

I'd throw Michigan in there with ND and OSU.

ND's track record with "the younger brother" has been pretty impressive as of late. I like our chances based on that alone.

My roommate who follows elevenwarriors like is his job (ie me with IE) thinks its Iowa v Notre Dame. The OSU crew isn't confident.

Tell your roommate I hope he is right. But ask him why he doesnt think OSU has a good shot. I am not OSU fan, but it seems like to me they have as good of a shot as anyone this early in the process.

I hope it comes down to Iowa vs ND. I like that match up.
