I think the PRO vs DUAL QB rankings are borderline racist. Scroll down the lists and you'll see the PRO QBs are basically white and the DUAL QBs are basically African-American with very few exceptions on either side. I'm happy to hear they are thinking about changing it. They may want to consider doing the same with APB vs RB. I do think there's some merit to the WDE vs SDE distinction though.

Hate to resurrect this topic, but in college football right now, the best dual threat QB is Manziel and the best pro-style is Bridgewater. Good bye stereotypes.

I'm gonna throw this out there at risk of being guilty of stereotyping... but I thought Bridgewater was plenty mobile?

Also, I do believe there is a difference between "mobile" and "dual threat," so maybe Bridgewater is truly a pro-style QB that happens to be able to move pretty well, ala Andrew Luck. But I thought he was more of a pure dual-threat.

The Manziel's are Syrian. He looks pretty white to me, but just sayin'.

+1 Lion's comments on Bridgewater.

Good bye stereotypes? Eh, not going to say, "Mission Accomplished".

Bridgewater is very mobile and was considered a "dual threat" QB coming out of HS. He plays in a pro style offense at Louisville though.

Was a good game. Southview has won 2 OH DIV2 State titles, but fallen on harder times in the last season or two. DeShone knows how to win.

does he team run the triple option or something?

no pretty much a wide open spread offense...coach does like to run the ball a lot.

actually the offense he runs prepares him pretty well for ours at the next level.

I have to say this worries me a lot. The only thing that stood out to me from his camp tapes was how inaccurate he looked, especially when rolling out.

Accuracy has a lot to do with mechanics and this kid will get plenty of work on the technical part of the game once he enrolls. He has also been an every sport athlete who hasn't given himself totally over to the game of football yet. Plenty of Elite 11 stuff that stated he was improving quickly as he soaked up information and took in the coaching. I think he will be fine when it's his time to compete for a starting job. I also don't know too many QBs at the NFL or college level who are great at being accurate on the roll out.

I think that Southview could be tough this year on defense particularly. And if Kizer threw five balls for 188 yards, that is a whopping 37.6 yard average. (Remember that he almost ran for a hundred yards in addition to that, and this is high school.)

All he has to do is be able to hit a wide open receiver after he escapes the pocket on a broken play. I'm not worried at all.

All this is pretty funny when you have the perspective to see that the greatest single threat quarterback never made it on the field in the NFL, Chuck Ealy. Single threat you ask? He was a threat to score on every play. Made the Heisman list. Should have done better. But the NFL wouldn't have anything to do with a "dual threat" quarterback in the early '70's. We are still defined by our prejudices!

Toss in Mercury Morris to that rotation and you have the greatest trio of running backs ever assembled on one team imo. Go Phins.

A) Those guys were great. They were @ss kickers with Mercury!

B) DeShone is a man among boys! His Central squad has played some great programs so far this year. The three teams his Irish have played have like four state finals in the last ten years. And he has been the prime force in every game. I tell you he has surprised me, and he will shock bunches of ND fans!

Very interested to see this guy compete next year. Should be the most physically impressive of the bunch. Needs to work on some accuracy issues but a lot of upside.

huge getting him in as an EE...should really help with depth at QB, especially if hendrix is invited back assuming Golson returns

Not much new here but BGI caught up with Kizer about his visit. Its his first visit for a game and he loved it. He's become close with Brent and all the commits at the game are solid commits he adds. Talked to Alize a little about playing together in the future, why he committed, etc. Spoke to Kelly and Martin for awhile. Said they get along really well. From the photos that were posted of him at the game I think he's starting to fill out his frame and after a year or two in a college weight program you could see a Cam Newton esque build develop.
