Well, only a little more than two months away and I'm already doing my research. I had a blast in my first year of fantasy football last year and I'm really looking forward to this year. Here's a few questions. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Who's starting leagues this year?

Who's your top picks and sleeper picks?

Does anyone else hear a famous sportscasters voice while they're reading the names of NFL players? I do. AL Michaels.

I'll be renewing a IE league from last year for those interested.

If we get enough serious interest, I would like to set up a Keeper league on here to up the stakes and hopefully maintain interest. There are unfortunately always one or two people who sign up saying they are all for it then my the 4th week stop checking there team.

A sleeper? I don't usually find sleepers until after the preseason, I watch a lot of that. But off the top of my head, I could probably give you a few.

LeVeon Bell- Yes the LeVeon Bell that we watched for the past 4 seasons. The Steelers have been desperate for a do it all back. I think they have finally found one. You should be able to get him in the later rounds.

Danny Amendola- The Patriots lost Wes Welker and Aaron Hernandez this off season. Who will Brady throw to besides Gronk? I think Amendola would be a good pick in the mid rounds.

Tavon Austin- Sam Bradford desperately needs someone to throw to. The Rams gave him two new weapons in Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey. Tavon Austin should be there in the late rounds.

The best advice I can give Bob is to watch the preseason if you are given the chance. The best sleeper I ever found through watching preseason was Antonio Brown his rookie season.

I don't think you can ever really call a rookie before his first down ever a sleeper. While I think Tavon Austin will be a stud, it is very rare that drafting a rookie will be successful given my experience. Usually if they go off week 1 or show like they have the potential to go off(a la, lots of playing time), sign them off of waivers.

I would draft Tavon Austin since the Rams lack quality receivers and same for LeVeon Bell.

But players like DeAndre Hopkins, I wouldn't draft him since the Texans have plenty of other offensive weapons

Amendola = injury prone

When he does play he's a beast though

I think it's going to be interesting where Kaepernick, RG3, and Russell Wilson get drafted in fantasy leagues. I would feel uncomfortable taking them as my #1 quarterback because I think teams will figure out how to play against these running quarterbacks. But it's high risk, high reward for these players.

Add Cam Newton to that list. I had him on one of my teams last year.. and he was horrible. So inconsistent. No way I would recommend anyone taking him higher than 4th round

That's real solid. All three of those RBs could be very good in PPR, and Tate could explode early as a WR3.

I'm in one of the new Yahoo money leagues. I did on the $250 ones where you play in a random 10-person league. It pays out $1250 to 1st, $750 to 2nd, $250 to 3rd. No PPR unfortunately, its with the default Yahoo settings. What's everyone think of this team? I had pick 8 out of 10. I ended up with the highest rated draft according to Yahoo, not that that means much.

QB: Stafford/Newton (going to rotate based on D)
RB: Alfred Morris
RB: CJ Spiller
WR: Roddy White
WR: Pierre Garcon
WR: Golden Tate (got him in all 3 leagues this year)
TE: Tony Gonzalez
D: Patriots
K: Gostowski

Bench
RB: Daryl Richardson
RB: Quiz Rodgers
RB: Fred Jackson
WR: Michael Floyd
WR: Tavon Austin

Thanks. I acquired Tate yesterday in a trade for Frank Gore who was sitting on my bench. Before that, my WRs were weak

That's a really good lineup, and I think you'll like Michael Floyd a lot this year.

Line up question for my fellow fantasy footballers: Maurice Jones-Drew or Frank Gore? I'm leaning towards Gore but MJD is playing KC and their defense will probably suck.

I just had the strangest draft last night... added two people to our office league making it 14 teams. They changed lineup to 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 W/TE, 2 FLEX. Points for return yards. So I went:

1. LeSean McCoy
2. David Wilson
3. Reggie Bush
4. Torrey Smith
5. Jordy Nelson (DeSean Jackson flew off the board right before my pick... I'm really high on him this year)
6/7. Romo/Vick... I plan on trading 1 after week 1 for a 3rd pass catcher

and then just garbage... grabbed Cordarelle Patterson and McCluster for return yards... really hard to find people passed this point in a 14 team league. Also ended up with San Fran D, so that's a cherry on top, especially in a 14 team league where it is hard to play D matchups.

But the really strange kicker for this league is -.25 points per incompletion. WTF? Matt Stafford... when you run the numbers... drops almost completely off the board with that type of scoring. Just a very odd twist.

My big boom or bust late round reach was Justin Blackmon. Hope he doesn't get arrested 10 minutes after being reinstated.

I have him in all 3 of my leagues as a late pick. Always fun to reach for a gem in the rough (or gem in prison?).

Gore over MJD

Gore over MJD

Gore will have more opportunities to score in my opinion and SF loves to pound him at the goal line. In my experience simply picking the weaker def is not always the best option.

Reggie and Peyton absolute blow up in week 1 for fantasy owners.

Whose next for week 2?

I need Doug Martin to get back to his form from last season... he completely underacheived last week, becuase somehow my Jets actually kept him in check.

I lost 123.56 to 123.24 and then 132.82 to 130.68 in my two money leagues.

I hate fantasy football.
