Don't know how we still don't have a thread for this kid. He was offered this spring and visited for Future Stars. After visiting ND, he camped at USC and was very impressive and was offered. The USC 247 expected him to commit shortly after and well that didn't happen.

Adam Gorney is hearing ND and Oregon lead. Johnson is targeting a visit for the USC game.

He is seen as a possible ILB per Rivals.

Bonner with a better offer list?

I know will take a lot of front 7 guys, but would we take this kid?

according to many it wasn't actionable right? hardly consider that an offer.

It's been said Jaylon's may not be either.

Jaylon has already received my stamp of approval as an ILB, so long as he can play in space.

He was offered in the spring. He may have had a spot in the class at one point but it may have been taken.

I like the idea of him at ILB. He's tall enough 😜

With the lack of ILB offers and interest in the ones we have offered, I think the staff should go after this guy pretty hard. He has the ideal height and good weight for an ILB, why not.

unless they feel great about Mouhon or Morgan (which we have heard no reason to believe) we don't have exactly Alot of ilb prospects. a kid who can run 4.6 (if legit) &.racked up 113 tackles at de should get serious consideration imo. i hope his offer is actionable

I'll take a kid with offers from USC, TCU, Miami, Oregon and Cal among others, and that the staff personally worked out and thought highly of. I think those offers stack up very well against Bonner's, personally.

I meant that Jaylen has the better offer list. As far as the Bonner comparison, I was only suggesting it insofar as he isn't very highly rated but the staff likes them. And I missed that he was an ILB prospect.

So it's crazy, I was reading USC's Rivals board, and they were talking about Jaylen in their version of ISD's Intel weekly article. According to them, he was offered at their Rising Stars camp recently and expected to commit shortly thereafter (as we stated above). Well, he obviously didn't and has been very quiet since.

Well......their source at Centennial High (perennial power as I recall) says that Johnson is leaning toward committing to ND before the end of the summer. Also, he is definitely being recruited as a LB by USC and ND. Oregon is also an option for him.

Crazy that we haven't heard more about this from ND's paysites. But, good news nonetheless, assuming the source is legit (and the USC guy who reported it as is connected as any in SoCal).

Great news LA, thank you for sharing! We are getting kids that I used to be so disappointed when we missed on them back just a few years ago. I hope he ends up here.

I love seeing kids with offers from schools like Northwestern and Vanderbilt (also Duke and Stanford) combined with offers from more football powers like USC and Oregon go to ND. So hopefully Jaylen makes that wise choice.

I'm actually surprised Stanford isn't pushing harder on this one. If we keep filling in the roster with guys like Jaylen and Deeb, we'll be doing fine.

Definitely has the physical tools. Since he hasn't played a lot of football, he'll probably show improvement pretty fast.

similar to Holmes and Florida, it would be nice to get a kid from Cali in the fold early.

Also like this kid at ilb a lot!
