Samuel loved the fact Meyer compared him to Percy Harvin. A clichéd assessment at times, but this one might be a little more on point than comparisons in the past.

I think Samuel is overrated as a 5-star. He's a solid player and definitely an offensive weapon, but a 5-star (i.e. can't miss recruit)? I don't think so.

Is it possible to field a team of 11 Percy Harvins? Urbs certainly seems to be willing to find out.

That's literally..... 6? 7? I think 6 different players that Meyer has compared to Harvin in recruitment since he took the reigns. Ridiculous.

Three in this cycle --- Samuel, Terry McLaurin and Parris Campbell. Not sure about 2012 and 2013.

Not really. I felt this way when 247 bumped him from a 95 to 98 after The Opening. Is he the #25 player in the class? I don't think so. Is he somewhere between 90-130 (i.e. a 95 rating)? More accurate, and well deserved, IMO.

Just to be clear...the kid is a stud. I just think he is overrated as a 5-star.

I actually agree. I don't think he's 5* talent. Very talented and very deserving of a 4* rating. I just don't see anything that jumps off the screen. All around good pickup for the bad guys.

he noted that Diaco was terrible w/ this one...samuel wanted to be irish and diaco just didn't give him much attention...loy said had this been lyght it would have been done...

Diaco had one recruiting win that set the bar too high for his recruiting talent to live up to.

Where has NDWord247 gone? Was a real good poster.

Think Samuels started out slow, playing behind guys like Eliot and Jaylon Marshal. But he has proved his weight in gold this year. He has earned that ranking 247 gave him. He is just an offensive weapon (OW). He will have a very good career in the NFL. A more athletic and faster Theo Riddick.

I realize he wasn't a great recruiter but he was a damn fine DC.
