As we learned with the Kyle Allen situation nothing is ever set in stone but Carter apparently changed his plans from flying to Chicago, at Rivals expense, to driving from GA so he could visit. I think ND has advised all prospects that they cannot have Rivals pay for their transportation and visit ND

this is big time as that drive is certainly going to suck, cost $ etc...must be some serious interest

Not Ironman but from my perspective bad. In the sense that he doesn't seem connected to what the staff is thinking, wanting, or looking for. Sapp clearly had some relationships with people on the staff that trusted him enough to tell him things and he would put it out there for us to read without divulging too much. Loy seems to be reaching with some of his info. Can't really fault him because he's pulling double duty but its still lacking what Sapp brought and may never have that.

well having played at ND i would think that certainly helped him w/ connections to the team

The last update on him had him saying if he couldn't work it out with this rivals challenge he'd visit another time this summer. I'll believe it when I see it, but at least he has said he wants to get to ND.

Interesting interview with Carter below. When asked what he liked about Alabama, he mentions Coach Smart's use of the "Jack" linebacker position and states that he loves that position, which is what we call the "Cat" LB. If Loy is right (he's not) about us recruiting him as a DE, we don't have a chance.

FWIW (likely not much), our CAT LB depth will be more appealing to Carter than Alabama's JACK LB depth in 2014.

Loy needs to understand Diaco's system before putting that kind of stuff out there. This ain't UNC.

Wouldn't get over excited about that. Sean actually coaches the FR. team OL. Carter's position coach is Marcus Jackson who was a stud player for Norcross who went to Georgia. Bama has done a great job recruiting Norcross HS in recent years. The Blue Devils coaching staff may be one of the best in the state of Georgia.

he is a hell of a recruiter and coordinator...no pun intended but he is smart not to leave to be a hc as he has the easiest job right now...i just mean in terms of elite talent wanting to come play for you

Interesting that Carter was born in Evansville, IN. Moved to Atlanta when he was very young. Dad is from Chicago, Mom from Memphis.
