Can't read the article but the posters are saying its because he wants to take visits, interesting. Since we can't get that guy and we can take the others, I want this guy at LSU.

To clear it up, by "this guy" you mean D'haquille, right?

This is another one of those "one of these things is not like the other ones..." moment.

Yes, and that doesn't bode well for us, IMO. I'd rather be competing against Stanford and other academic schools than the bottom feeders of the ACC/SEC. They can really recruit.

New five star on scout. Farrell said yesterday he was easily the best WR at the Rivals100 Challenge. Per him, Mixon was the best offensive player yesterday and Hand in defense.

Dupre plans to get to Clemson this summer

No mention of ND but not really expected from the source either

WR Malachi Dupre of River Ridge, LA is one of the most hotly recruited receiver prospects in the country. But it was he who initiated the contact with Clemson. Dupre said Clemson was the one major offer he wanted that he had not received. So, he had his coach contact Chad Morris, and the next day he had a Tiger offer. He has since been in touch with receivers coach Jeff Scott. "My interest level in Clemson is high, I just have to get out there," Dupre said. "I've been liking them for a long time." Dupre, who says he has over 60 offers, plans to visit Clemson, Florida State and UCLA this summer. He's not decided on other visits. Right now he does not have favorites and hasn't trimmed his list. He plans to announce at the Under Armour Game. Last season Dupre had 36 catches for 816 yards and 16 touchdowns.

LSU just landed WR D.J. Chark

They now have 2 WRs commits, lead for Speedy Noil, Trey Quinn, Malachi Dupre and Saeed Blacknall and are very much still a possible landing spot for the #1 JUCO WR D'haquille Williams.

Somone has to look elsewhere IMO, lets hope it's Dupre.

Noil seems to have cooled significantly on LSU over the past couple of months. Chark also fits the same profile as Noil: super fast, average size, lacking polish. He absolutely tore up the LSU prospect camp this week and got an offer on the spot.

More scary news: the 2016 LA prospects already look like they could be as good as this 2014 class. Devin White is 6', 225 and ran a "4.47" at the camp; he's already being pegged as the next star back out of LA and looked better than the 3 strong backs from the 2015 crop (Brossette, David Ducre, and Derrius Guice). At WR, Mykel Jones already has offers from LSU, FSU and Tennessee. At QB, Shea Patterson is committed to Arizona and Alabama and LSU are both recruiting John Randall Belton.

I think LSU may take as many as six and if they have seven, including Chark, then Chark may be redefined as an "athlete" in the class.

coming from Gary Laney

I understand athletes wanting to play with other really good players, but when a team already has an excessive amount of players in my class in my position (say 5 or 6 wide receivers), I'm going to look for greener pastures. (That haven't been nibbled on by Les.)

I feel pretty confident saying that aren't going to sign all those kids. Not saying we will but somebody else will get a couple. I really don't think Malachi ends up there. If i had to choose now it seems Clemson has some momentum.

I actually feel really good about our chances with Malachi.

I like our chances as well but if I had to choose now it definitely wouldn't be ND, he's never visited.

Currently visiting UCLA for the second time. Don't like our chances at all here.

Fournette's at USC and Dupre is at UCLA? How do these schools get these kids out there so often?

Yeargin and Quincy Wilson are also out west visiting those schools.

I can see that a bit more easily because Wilson's dad is a former pro, but I don't know how everyone else does it.

Hell, I haven't gone on vacation in years. Let alone taking several school visits across the country.

Wilson's dad actually didn't make much money in the NFL. He was an undrafted rookie and I think only played one season.

But to answer your question, a lot of players raise money through fundraisers, get help from HS booster clubs, have parents that bust their butt to help, etc. And, if they're considering SEC schools....nevermind.
