Sadly, this is the way it works at ND. Drinking is barely frowned upon by the administration but we're told as students that pot is. 1 semester expulsion if you're even caught with. Administration has several double standard policies and this is one of them.

They can't. Schools can't release that kind of info without the student's permission. They will just state that he is no longer enrolled.

It's meant to be said again. Players come and go...a program is built by coaches. ND will be just fine. We have the second best coaching staff in America. In typical fashion everyone is freaking out. Haha...just like last year after Lo Wood tore his Achilles. C'mon...give the program some credit. I trust TR more than any other QB...this is not the end of the world.

I understand that it is their policy and thats just the consequences of not following it. What i mean to say is i just dont really agree with it (which doesnt matter because rules are rules). Which is why its a WHOLE different issue, i think in general our country needs to relax the punishments on marijuana, the harsher punishments on drug related crimes arent stopping people from using it, but its a different issue thats not worth getting into on this thread. Even after this im still somehow looking forward to this coming season. Go Irish!

If Golson was cheating in any way then he should be punished accordingly, but I hope it doesn't hinder his progression in life (ie. obtaining his degree).

Cheating/plagiarism is just about the only thing you can't do in academia. Will almost certainly hinder/delay his degree.

Um, are players not allowed to progress or are they doomed to never get better? Rees has his limitations but it doesn't mean that he hasn't improved since then.

No, he made a big huge deal of a press conference when he announced he was coming back for his senior year. Thought Urbie was going to cry tears of joy.

This is a great reason why I always tell myself not to get mad over things I can't control. Otherwise I probably would've punched a hole in the wall.

The safe decision would to obviously go with Tommy (which I'm fine with). The decision to build the program would to obviously go with Malik (which I'm also fine with). I think we could see another 2012 type deal (not 12-0), where Zaire starts but if he shits the bed then Tommy goes in. But with how Kelly is, I would put my money on Tommy starting.

This sucks, and it's WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY worse than losing EV.

My expectations and prediction has obviously changed now. We still have a stellar defense that will keep us in every game. A brand new set of running backs and the possibility of a freshman quarterback makes me a little nervous. I have all the trust in the world that Coach Kelly will have this offense ready to go at 3:30 on August 31st. I was predicting 10-2, now I'm going with something no worse than 7-5.
