I dot want to sit next to him on a plane but I'd love to stand next to him in a huddle.

ND, both football and basketball, has gotten a lot of players from DeMatha. If I recall correctly, Coach Brey went there. The connection to DeMatha is strong.

I think we have a good shot at this kid. Being #1 has never hurt anyone, either.

:)

Correct. Jerian Grant from the BBall team is also a grad. Not sure it helps, but at least there's a connection

His dad was coached by Ferentz in Cleveland and Baltimore so that could be why.

Hearing some rumors that he could be announcing for Tennessee tomorrow. If so, Tennessee continues to do well early this year

Kudos to them for their recruiting thus far but I have a feeling its going to get a little tougher when they're getting waxed in the SEC. I just don't see how they could be any better than last year.

100% agree and have preached that to all the orange bloods down here.

Yep. Typical recruiting momentum from new coaching hire is typical.

we sound like a favorite for Bars anyways but could this help us with him?

I wouldn't think that Butch would pass on a highly ranked in state OL regardless of the numbers crunch...who knows

I believe Orlando is in Georgia, not TN (or MD). Either of that would make him out of state now, wouldn't it? Or am I missing something?

I believe he was talking about Alex Bars. I took it to mean that Brown committing to Tennessee wouldn't impact Tennessee accepting in state Bars' commitment.

I did mean Bars. But I was in reverse thought. That Orlando committing to Tenn. would push Bars to us. Not because of the Tenn. staff not accepting him just both being projected at OT.

It was a dumb question after I posted as we planned on taking two OT this round plus last years haul.

I just really want this kid to pick ND, guilty as charged.

Over the last few years, coaching sucked, recruiting sucked, conditioning sucked, player's actions sucked. 3 of those 4 things I believe will improve this year, so why wouldn't we think they can do better.

They were in a lot of games last year (leading Florida big before collapse, down to the wire at UGA (sat on the 45 for that game) MissSt,, and SC . Certainly not saying they will rule the SEC, but things are trending far better than they did during ED's first year. The proof is in the pudding, but I have no problem with a decent level of optimism.

Sure it will be a transition year, but I believe the D will respond well to the change back to original scheme. On O, Worley will be the real deal. He had offers from many big time programs, and IIRC, ND was hot after him. North will be an impact Freshman there is no doubt. If he can pick up the schemes early, he will compete for SEC Freshman of the Year IMO. Tall, athletic, straight up fast and quick. Raw but I think he will learn early if only through baptism by fire.

Bray did himself a dis-service by leaving early IMO. I think he could have done much better under the new regime. I think his work ethic would have increased 10 fold.
