Totally forgot about Crabtree, that is a great pull.

Ya, he was fun to watch. How about Larry Fitzgerald...Dude was Nasty didn't he have like 2k yds and 20+ td's one year? And I can't even remember who is QB was, was it Rod Rutherford???

Since this is college, I'll say as a preface that I think that Tim Tebow [just talkin' football] is better than anyone [though guys like Young and Suh are hard to argue against], but if the list were just a bit longer then Pat White and Luke Kuechley would deserve some praise. White was as big a threat as anyone I've watched for years, and I've not seen a better college linebacker than Kuechley.

I second putting Pat White in the conversation. That guy was so fun to watch at WV.

Other names to consider Cedric Benson and LaMichael James.

How bout Bryan McKinnie? SI Player of the Year in '01, 2x First Team All-American, National Champ, and finished 8th in Heisman as an offensive lineman. Also, didn't give up a sack in his entire (only 2 year) career at Miami.

Lots of great players listed but to me it is Adrian Peterson all day err day. Then watching what he has done since he turned pro just confirms what everybody saw while he was at Oklahoma.

I don't know how you people can say Reggie Bush is #1.

Tim Tebow and Vince Young hands down.

Mcfadden was one of the best RBs I've ever seen. I wish I could remember enough to compare him to Bush.

Mcfaden had little to no talent around him, besides Felix Jones. I remember the LSU game, and he literally just took the ball an ran and that was their offense the entire game against one of the best defenses in the country. Bush couldn't do that. Bush had a lot of weapons around him. With Mcfadden, you knew exactly what was coming and you couldn't stop it.

I think he was robbed of the Heisman won by Troy Smith.

Ben Koyack has the potential to be #1 when it's all said and done.

I see what you did there.

If you're talking about the best player in the 21st century, I think you have to go with their whole body of work, not just a 1 hit wonder. Cam may have had as good a single year as any, but he wouldn't go down as the best imo. Reggie had one exceptional year in 2005, but didn't do so hot in the big game. I'd put Vince Young ahead of him there.

On the other hand, as good as Vince was putting up 1000 yards rushing almost all 3 years at Texas along with manageable passing, and as much as I dislike him, I have to go with Jesus Tebow as the best. Leinart would be up there too, but he played in a weaker league and he took ball room dancing as a Senior, so **** 'em. Tebow didn't rush for as much as Vince, but he put up a ton of passing yards and won two MNCs. He was also 3-0 in his BCS games, two of course being championships, and the only bowl he lost was in the Capital One Bowl to Michigan his Sophomore season. Crazy thing is they would have played for a 3rd championship in 4 years had they not lost to Saban's Alabama team in 2009.
