A quick bump as a reminder that the premiere is in 50 minutes!!!
She sure was. This premiere has stoked my desire to read the books. I have them, just never got around to them. I will be starting tomorrow evening.
Nipple part was absurd lol
"Men don't need nipples."
Also, not sure how I feel about the Margery/Joffrey storyline that is developing; I don't remember Margery actually being an active "for-the-people" queen in the books. The people loved her, but she didn't do much. I understand why they need to develop her character more for the show, but I hope they don't stray too far from the books concerning her relationship with the Lannisters.
Any info spoiler-wise for the lizard girl would be much appreciated.
Is she a special character from the books, sort of like a shape shifter?
What was the rad scorpion/June bug thing-a-ma-bobber?
You cannot go wrong with either of those series. My all time favorites:
Lost
Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones
Walking Dead
Dexter
Sopranos
My 'View List'
The Wire
The Following
I mean, how else do you expect them to communicate "people loved her" so efficiently within an already jam-packed plot/script?

It was a manticore, and lizard girl was an assassin sent by the warlocks.
In the book, Strong Belwas and Arstan save her from the assassin, who was actually a Sorrowful Man.
Not to mention Strong Belwas has at least a few more scenes that directly affect Dany's plot. I don't feel like it would have been hard to put him into the story.
I'm upset with the absence of Strong Belwas, and the fact that Arstan Whitebeard revealed who he was right away.

Dude...No "Boardwalk Empire" (the best show on TV right now)
Shameless is also good
There's going to be more of this. Not only will the show leave out characters who appear in the books, but I've read that the show will begin to kill off characters who are still alive in the books. The problem is that logistically they just can't have a cast as large as Martin's character list. They can't pay that many actors and they can't coordinate that many schedules, on top of the fact that having countless characters bewilders the viewers who haven't read the books. The show producers just have to simplify the story a little.
That is annoying, but the silver lining is that with any luck we may get hints at some of the plot developments that will take place in books that haven't been written yet. The show producers collaborate with GRRM and GRRM has revealed some details of the story's end to people involved with the show (not even just producers ... he has told the actor who plays Theon Greyjoy the secret of Jon Snow's parentage, for instance). When the show kills off a character, I think we can assume that even if that character isn't dead in the books, he won't do anything significant in them. I don't think we will learn anything major that way, but maybe something.
have read all 5 of the books.
i remember most major plot lines but i have no recollection of the warlock girl with the spider--was that in the books?
also some of the things in last nights episode seemed to be "out of order" from the books---wont list them here and spoil anything.
i guess have to expect that as cant possibly out it all into the series.
anyone know how the first episode did rating wise? I know a lot of people were kinda of upset about the lack of action but i though it was very good.
