Been gone for a day and now we have 2 new transfers. I prefer not to read thru all the pages since the news broke. Anyone care to spell it all out for me please? Thx.

Lol, thanks guys. I know they are transferring. I just meant any details that arose thru the all the info on the many pages since it was announced. Reasons, where......
There have been quotes from both fathers, but who knows the real story. Not sure it matters much anwyay.
Not to be rude but they are only protecting their sons. Who wouldn't?
This tells me Fergie got Prestwooded
The Ferg situation just seems odd to me. Minimal info from anyone but a parent who is understandable protecting his child, then in the middle of a semester he is no longer enrolled. To me Neal is approaching it the right way. I wish he'd stayed, but I understand his desire to be around his newborn and be apart of his life and he seems to be finishing out the semester then transferring. No gap in schooling.
Wake up people. This many transfers in a month is not a good thing.
I think it is a good thing. From my experience, players leave programs in the spring because- after busting their a$$ in winter workouts- they see that they are not going to getting the playing time they expected. They feel their talent isn't being appreciated. Unless you believe Kelly and his class can't evaluate talent, it means competition is fierce and better players are running off the others. The only down side is that when this happens at Alabama, they have an over signed player who steps in. But I'd rather have a tough SOB like Kelly at ND who is pushing kids than having a guy like Weis where kids stuck around but we were soft. A good example is Lynch last year. The sky was falling because he was a former starter, yet our d-line didn't miss a beat. That's the kind of program we have. Every offseason guys are going to walk away.
It will be interesting to watch the careers of all from Lynch to Prestwood; from Ferguson to Neal!
I know he's not the most popular character around these parts, but I think Lynch will be a monster for Willie Taggert at South Florida; I'm rooting for Tagert to do good, so I guess I'm rooting for Lynch as well.
I think Neal could do wonders at UCLA or Cal (I like Sonny Dykes and his offense, so I hope Cal), and Ferguson has plenty of time to find a place he can thrive and grow into a great WR. It hurts to lose talent at WR, but Baby Admiral looks to be ahead of schedule and will be just fine on the outside.
We will see. Shaq Evans did okay. Some do some don't. I wish all the best. but I will be honest. I dont see things going well for Lynch (down to 244lbs, with all the turmoil he has surrounding him) or Jordan Prestwood, at Central Fla. The rest I will refer back to my post again, "we will see!"
Normal freshman students transfer all the time after the first semester or first year. Very common. This guys maybe top notch athletes, but they are still 18 year old kids living on their own for the first time in their life.Like I said in the Neal thread the depth chart/workouts/writing on the wall/etc stuff doesnt apply to either situation. Sometimes it just doesnt work out and you get a transfer. The Ferguson family is nothing but classy and the friendly people. Fergs father is a first class guy and im sure he has taught his son the same. Wish nothing but the best for Justin and Davonte. Both have bright futures on and off the field and will def be following their careers in the future. When your speculating just remember that the families of players do read this board and i hope you show respect bc they sacrifice a lot for the team we all love.

Wasn't it Ferguson's dad who was posting on here after his son's commitment, or was it Chris Brown? I remember the dad being really impressed with all of Whiskey's ROI mumbo jumbo.
Many, if not most, freshmen have sticker shock in everything, not just football. Dropouts and transfers are extremely common for many reasons. After spending their whole life being the best in their field often with little or no effort due to their innate ability, talent and interest they now find themselves in serious competition with people of similar or superior talent. Throw that into an eighteen year old person with humongous hormonal attachments elsewhere, a bit of immaturity manifested as homesickness and the realization that there are many very talented and exceptional people in the world, and it is a wonder that we can find 85 bodies.
Hence the departure of a few.
