Scout.com: Manti Te'o
This thread almost makes me not want to be a Steeler fan anymore. I try to defend Manti but they think he is any where from a 3rd to 5th round pick. They REALLY don't like him. Lol

Players who run sub 4.5 are skill players and corners. How many players ran sub 4.5 forties overall? The fact we have none, and the closest was one of the smallest players on the team is kind of eye opening to me. I think we have quite a few on the team now so I am curious to see how we utilize more speed the next few years.
Players who run sub 4.5 are skill players and corners.
That would consist of Wood, Riddick, Toma and Goodman this year.
Most running backs usually run in the 4.5 range. So Wood ran a 4.52, he is in good shape.
Did you really expect Goodman and Riddick to run sub 4.5?
So it's eye opening to you that of the four available players who play positions that typically have players run sub 4.5 that no ND player did? Even though Wood ran 4.52 and Toma ran 4.5.
I don't agree with your logic.
Off the top of my head: Darrin Walls, Floyd, Tate, Bruton all ran sub 4.5 forty's.Who has done it in recent years at the combine for ND? The point is, our speed is young and it has been a LONG time since we have had as much as we do now.
And checking the combine results, CB and WR are by far the fastest 40 groups but RB, S and even LB posted a few sub-4.5 forty times.
Moral to the story, TRUE sub 4.5 forty speed is not as abundant as recruiting sites would have us believe. Yet, we are flush with it on our roster, including the LB position where it is truly rare. That is the eye opening element, seeing a huge increase in raw speed across the starting lineup and two-deep.
Tate's unofficial was sub 4.4 too!Golden Tate ran 4.42 and Floyd a 4.47 at the combine, so we have brought it in recent years. I was thinking Floyd was higher than that.
Off the top of my head: Darrin Walls, Floyd, Tate, Bruton all ran sub 4.5 forty's.
He asked who has done it in recent years. Tate did it, the next year Walls and the next Floyd did.ok but this is over several years
• Kapron Lewis-Moore, who was a fast-rising prospect before suffering an injury late in the season, is still recovering and didn't look as though he could work out before the draft. I think he could be an intriguing late-round pick. But because of the injury, he'll be under the radar and few will bring up his name. You might see his name on the ticker on Day 3, but don't be surprised three or four years from now if he's contributing to an NFL team.
• Zeke Motta, who was a highly productive safety, ran two marginal 40 times at the combine, including an official 4.83 in Indy. But he improved slightly Tuesday; I had him at 4.72 and 4.78. He has run the 40 five times for scouts and none of them have been 4.7 or better. He's a very good football player and a lot of scouts have him in the third- or fourth-round range. He's another one who might wind up surprising when he gets to the next level.
• Theo Riddick ran a faster 40 time than he did at the combine. On Tuesday, I clocked him at a high 4.5. At the combine, he ran a 4.68 and pulled his hamstring doing it. So, by running in the 4.5s, that helps him. He's a versatile running back and slot receiver. He showed great hands and route-running while catching the ball.
• I clocked RB Cierre Wood at 4.49. Wood ran surprising low at the combine, where the stopwatches had him in the 4.4s, but the electronic clock had him at 4.56. But on my stopwatch on Tuesday, he ran the 4.49. He has been in and out of the doghouse for his career, but he's a talented back. He'll probably be a Day 3 pick.
Twenty three NFL players – 13 active players and 10 former players – including 15-year veteran quarterback CHARLIE BATCH (free agent) and two-time Pro Bowler ADALIUS THOMAS (retired) will take part in the new NFL Business Management & Entrepreneurial “Investment for Impact” program April 18-21 at the University of Notre Dame.
Free agent quarterback BRADY QUINN and 10-year NFL center JEFF FAINE – both Notre Dame graduates – developed the program with NFL Player Engagement. Both will speak at the program along with former NFL players with social entrepreneurship backgrounds including WARRICK DUNN, RICK MIRER, JEREMY BLOOM and DEKE COOPER.
The program includes keynote speakers and panel discussions featuring academic experts and corporate executives, as well as a business planning workshop, a session matching players with faculty mentors, a “venture fair,” and a trip to the Annual Notre Dame Blue-Gold Football Scrimmage.
“The opportunity to play in the NFL has provided a platform to have an impact on our communities,” said Quinn, a six-year veteran. “It is my hope that through the Notre Dame Entrepreneurial program, attendees may learn how to invest with an impact for the greater good.”
“I’m proud to have had a hand in bringing Investment for Impact to my alma mater, and assisting in forming a partnership between University of Notre Dame and the NFL for the continuing education of professional athletes,” added Faine, who played for four clubs in 10 NFL seasons. “It has been a longstanding goal to give back in a meaningful way to the game that has provided so much opportunity for me. This course will provide a template on how to bridge traditional business models with a focus on the greater good of humanity. I believe social entrepreneurship is the wave of the future.”
