247 update on the Florida. "I guess you could call Miami my top school." Wants to visit Florida soon. Says that he likes Notre dame a lot, keeps in contact with Alford every week. Also talks briefly about South Carolina. Early playing time will be a big factor.

That doesn't sound like the kind of response you would hope for if you're a Miami fan. I think we have GOT to get him on campus. Let big Lou be an inspiration to him, and we can lock him up. If no campus visit happens before the season I don't like our chances

Also was the #2 overall performer at the Miami NFTC

Khairi Clark, DT, Hollywood Chaminade Madonna
The Top247 defensive tackle prospect checked in at a shade under 6-foot-2 and 320-pounds, and proved again to move very light on his feet. Not only can Clark bull-rush with natural strength, but also flashed agility, balance and lateral agility today. Clark lists Miami as his favorite, along with interest in Florida, Notre Dame, Georgia, South Carolina and Clemson among others.

Other then a commitment to ND, pretty good update IMO.

I remember reading somewhere where his mom prefers for him to go away to school. Thinks it will be good for him.

Tidbit from the Rivals challenge:

For Rivals100 defensive tackle Khairi Clark, his positional scarcity makes him attractive. His grades only increase the appeal.

Clark is ranked No. 69 in the Rivals100 and weighed in at the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour at 6-foot-2 and 325 pounds. He has received more than 30 offers but said that Miami, Florida, Notre Dame, Clemson, Georgia and Nebraska are six that he has in focus.

He said that how programs develop players at his positions will play a role in his final decision but the weight room will not be more important than the classroom.

"Academics come first -- before football," Clark said. "Without the academics you don't have football."

Clark attends Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna and his standing in the classroom is encouraging to Codrington.

"When you look at the top of the Rivals rankings the last few years they are lined with defensive linemen and schools are always trying to focus on getting solid defensive linemen," Codrington said. "Whoever can land Clark will feel great about that because of what he brings on the field, but knowing that he is at a college prep school that has been making sure he is getting all of the things he needs to be eligible only adds to that on the college's side.

"There are far too many examples of talented defensive tackles that end up having to go to prep school or junior college but Clark is a guy that can get into the school and get into the weight program right away."

With Hayes and now Trumbetti on board, Clark certainly would be a good fit. Personally, I like the weight range listed as between 285-311. As someone already mentioned, what is that? before and after dinner weight?

Thinking we like Josh Frazier the most, and are confident in our ability to get Holley or another DT/NT if we miss on him.

Based off the newest reports, it sounds like we're pretty much out of it. I don't doubt our staff's skill, but this is looking like a pipe dream.

Bama's top NT prospect.

Bama then has "three top NT prospects."

Not that I am doubting you or your source, but I am reading from multiple sources, including Frasier's thread, that Sabin's catch prase this year is, "You are our number one NT prospect!"

Gotta love old Nick!

Pretty sure he was being sarcastic, hence the italics. But this only goes along with what you were saying.

I just hope ND can land a couple monsters in the middle.
