Don't think this will kill him, but it pretty clearly is a ding. Still think he's the #1 ILB, but could he slip to the 2nd round? Sure. Instincts are great, but Manti is not a freak athlete in the manner most high prospects are these days. He'll benefit from the lack of LB quality this year too, whereas he'd be playing 2nd fiddle to Kuechly last year.

Unfortunately, the other stuff took a hit with the fake girlfriend deal.

If you aren't a combine freak, gotta be very impressive in other areas.

And for clarity sake, no one knows exactly what it means, or what weight it carries.

Are you guys surprised again by the results, again this year? Didn't you say that we got to the "game" without the same talent level that Bama had? Every year we bring better and better athletes (in general) in and they are conditioned and developed better. That is just the way it is going to be.

It is natural to put Manti on a pedestal; but isn't it actually better how he has done with this? I am actually prouder of him? He did much more with less that we thought.

Did it really? It may have had an effect on the medie's perception of Manti, but from all indications from this weekend, NFL teams do not see it as a big deal.

His stock is going to fall, he has spinal stenosis.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Manti drops to second round.

Teo will be a mid first round pick max. They funny thing is that if you read Peter King's Monday Morning QB, he talked to an NFC scout who said it would have been better had Teo "caught using drugs, a couple of DUIs and abused his girlfriend". King was not happy with that assertion.

The thing about this combine is really kind of to sort out the kids that are really close, like Eifert and Ertz. Anyone who would take Ertz over Eifert is crazy.

I think some of us on here aren't seeing reality when it comes to Manti's poor combine numbers.... Of course I'm a big believe in game tape, myself.


Let me get this straight...when he does bad in a drill, it's not important to his position? When he does well, it is?

I don't think the GF thing hurts much. But, what sucks is that between the below-average NCG and the catfish thing, he basically had to show up at the combine where your numbers are always worse.

Had he had a decent NCG and no catfish thing, he could have just rested on his #1 status, trained until a March pro day at ND, and run a mid 4.6's to 4.7's.

Bottom line with this whole situation is that there are a lot of clowns out there (Stephen A., Clayton, etc.) that are going to eat **** when Manti is a Pro Bowler 3 years from now.
