So rivals and 247 list him as an athlete...F all you guys, told you he could end up being a LB.

I'm with you, homie. Screw where he wants to play. He's elite at RB or LB. Get him on the roster and manage it from there. As long as we are honest with him and he wants to be here for the right reasons, than to hell with position.

One of the elite North Carolina prospects in 2014.

Achieved the third highest overall score at the Charlotte Nike Combine.

4.55s 40 (second fastest out of 1300)
33" Vertical Jump

Grew up a UNC fan.

Could play either side of the ball (linebacker):

Hood is high on Heels early

^mentioned ND again that he really likes them and wants to see them

So rivals and 247 list him as an athlete...F all you guys, told you he could end up being a LB.

that was reported in the 5th post in his thread

Could he play LB at another school? Yes. Will he at Notre Dame? Very unlikely.

Hood ran that 4.55 in May 2012. That's really REALLY good for a RB of his size at that age. Kid is special.

I remember reading an article where he said he loves to hit people...I don't care where he plays as long as its in the blue and gold

Harrell asked him on twitter yesterday when he was going to visit and he said maybe next week.

Nice. Any chance of a commitment? Or is he going to let the process play out?

For the record: I like this kid at RB. I love how he's not afraid of contact and will just run someone over. After what Lacy did to Spond in the NC game, I want RBs that will lower the boom on defenders themselves.

I think there is a better than average chance that he could commit. If you aren't going to let Alabama in your school so they can talk to you then you must REALLY like Notre Dame

Getting backs like Bryant and Hood in back to back classes would be epic.

Wow, didn't realize this happened. Love it!

Bingo, bango. "Epic" might be an understatement. I can't help but get giddy over BK's new toys. Bryant and Hood are no exception.

Clearly you haven't been seeing the kind of talent at RB Saban has been pulling in on a yearly basis. Even just last year.

I wasn't aware we were comparing the two. I was simply saying that this staff recruits a new level of athlete when compared to previous ND staffs. The upgrade in talent and athletic ability top to bottom on this roster is night and day different than what it used to be.

He can play at ILB Position without problem. 215 lbs as a jr.. he has more weight than Ryan Shazier, Lavonte David, Luke Kuechly, Olec Olegtree in their Senior HS days. Brian Rolle was a best at OSU in the middle with 5'9. He has tremendous toughness, is all that matters.

Kuechly is 6'3." Not trying to single out just one of your examples. But lack of height is the reason some people are questioning him playing ILB.

I don't care either way. Just get signed and figure it out later. The staff obviously will figure out where he fits best. If they feel he can contribute at ILB, so be it. Who are we to argue. Bottom line...get him signed first.

Name all the guys you want but he's not playing LB at ND. He's barely 6 feet tall and 212 pounds.

Again, everybody thinks that BK is this "set in stone" measurables guy that cant adapt and use players outside of the specific desired measurable of their position. We have had TWO classes where BK recruited preferred measurables, but I urge you to show me where BK passed on a blue chip talent kid because of their measurables and chose a lower ranked recruit instead.

BK has coached for a long time, and I promise you that if there was an Elvis Dumerville (5'10") in this class, BK would not pass on him.

Here is his '09 Bearcat LB roster.

WLB 37 J.K. Schaffer, 6-1 220, Soph.
11 Collin McCafferty, 6-2, 220, Jr.

MLB 35 Marcus Waugh, 6-0, 260, Sr.
39 Alex Delsi, 6-2, 225, RFr.

SLB 7 Craig Carey, 6-4, 251, Sr.
43 Robby Armstrong, 6-2, 223, Jr.

He has plenty of experience utilizing smaller LB's. If we are fortunate enough to get Hurd, and he showed the staff that the best of use of his skillset was at LB. BK isn't going to not let him be a factor on the team because of a couple inches of height. The reason he would probably end up a RB at ND is because that's what he is best at and where he can make the most difference. Plain and simple.

You do realize a mere two years ago we offered and pursued a 6' ILB who eventually signed with Michigan, right? And he was actually shorter than 6' when we offered him and ended up growing some.

James Ross - Yahoo! Sports

So height/weight is not a sufficient reason in and of itself to discount him playing LB here.

We all getting 4-3 linebackers confused with 3-4 linebackers. Size is more of an issue with 3-4 linebackers.

I was finished growing when I was 16. My two oldest boys grew until about 25!

Most modern sources when discussing the American male, pin the drop off between 18, and 20. Unless your name is Robinson, and you are from San Antonio, TX.

You do realize the difference in recruiting at Cincinnati and ND don't you? At Cincy he had to take who he could get. At ND he can recruit elite players. He's spoken about this on numerous occasions. And he's spoken about what exactly they are looking for in terms of size at each position.

You do realize that I addressed that in my original post, right? Show me a blue chip guy that BK passed on for a lower ranked recruit because of height. He has had an opportunity to get top players that happen to have the measurables he likes the past two season. But how does that prove that he would pass on an elite LB prospect because of height? It just means that in the last two years he was able to close on the elite LB that also happen to be tall.

He was 6 feet, 209 coming out of HS and is now 6 feet, 225. He's playing OLB in a 4-3 defense. He would not be playing LB at ND had he come here. Look at the size of the LB's we've actually SIGNED since Kelly has been here. You won't find anyone that size at LB.
