Alright..

Can we get the Early Enrollee moniker on these kids mods?

It just makes me happy. Thanks mods.

Random question... did he run a 40 at any combines?

Yes. He ran a 4.5 40-yard dash, a 4.31 short shuttle and had a 34.5 inch vertical at the U.S. Army Combine in January of 2012.

Awesome thanks. 4.5 flat? Was watching film and couldn't decide if he looked fast or not.

I think Zaire is plenty fast, but just to point out how much misinformation there is in recruits 40 times and how much stock should be put in them, ESPN has him at 4.92 here.

I prefer watching highlight speed better than 40s because it seems like no one ever has a 40 slower than 4.6 even though many guys go to the combine and run much slower.

Didn't Golson only run a 4.7 something in the spring? Unless you are really trying to run the ball with your qb it's less about straight line speed and more about agility and quickness to escape sacks and turn nothing into extended plays and perhaps 5 yards. That is what moves the chains and kills defenses.

From all reports, Zaire is more of a runner and is a little more athletic.

Why not both? I believe were discussing rather "bonus" aspects of Zaire's game.

Malik's got promise, but in my opinion, golson's high school highlights were better, and based on that, I don't see him playing qb. If anything he might be a db if he's got speed. For example, Tom Zbikowski (friggen stud btw)- recruited as a qb, ended up at safety.

I think Malik is more raw out of HS, but Kelly doesn't want him playing as a RS frosh. Give him time in the system and he'll be ready. Given his build I'll bet Kelly would design more runs for him vs. Golson.

Golson has a better arm than Malik but Malik is faster and a better runner IMO.

Now when you say he's got promise, do you mean he's got Potential?

I'm pretty sure ND didn't recruit Tommy Z as a QB. Some other schools did though.

Damm, I love this guy, perfect quarterback mentality, really excited about watching Malik lead this class and team one day soon. A perfect fit for Notre Dame.
