Awesome news for IU!! Coach Wilson is really doing a nice job down there, and he is bringing in talent that IU hasn't had for as long as i can remember. Good luck to Darius.

with a potential whiff on EV looming any chance on a late run here or are the grades (apparently werent good enough maybe they got better??) and position designation (he wanted DT ND wanted him as OL) too much to overcome?

just hate to see an Inidiana kid at what i feel is (and is always) a position of need slip away to of all places IU.

well the GBDomer post was posted back on Nov 7th...who knows if our guys have kept in casual contact last couple months.

Grades have allegedly always been an issue for Latham, which is why we stopped recruiting him early on.

I fixed the thread title. Recruiting profiles don't get much attention after we stop pursuing a kid.

I was at the North Central vs Hamilton South Eastern basketball sectionals last night. N.C. also has Eron Gordon (little brother of Eric Gordon) and HSE has Zak Irvin (nationally ranked forward, committed to Michigan). Anyways, I was totally impressed with how athletic Darius is. He can move. Has great footwork and is pretty quick for a big man. N.C. was down by 15 at times in the game and made a run at the end. Darius tied the game at the buzzer with a layup. N.C. went on to win the game in overtime. IU got a good one here.

Still in his Top 5 but we may have hit a snag. He wants to play defense and we are only recruiting him for offense.

If we get a decent a OL haul with: Elmer, Bivin, McGovern, and one more... I dont see why he cant be recruited as a DL..

Why do we need a defensive tackle? I am not trying to be a smart @ss, but we run a 3-4 with a hybrid 4 man front. We need a nose tackle of guard, which is a different animal, and 3-4 defensive ends. And great Outside Linebackers, oh, we are getting those.

I certainly can see getting another big man, but he could be more Lawson like that even Latham like. Latham is a great DT for a four man front. One of the first guys I would want in a 4-3.

I have a feeling that Day is going to end up at NT when it's all over.

I doubt it. He's an explosive pass rusher, and from the looks of his frame, he may be pretty well filled out already.

None of us foresaw Schwenke and Springmann at NT, and yet there they are. The importance of and body type necessary to play Diaco's NT is a mystery.
