I hope we can land him because i think he can be a very special player.

I just watched his tape and i think he's one of the most explosive players i ever seen from HS. He reminds me a lot of Barkevious Mingo coming out from HS. Same skinny frame (Mingo took a redshirt year to gain weight) but aggresive players, elite first step, very explosive in the LOS, pass rushing skills and they can play from a two and three point stance (very important in our hybrid defense) .. both are great rushers off the edge. I like him a lot.

pretty good film, but he needs to work on tackling fundamentals. what stood out to me on his film is that he is the most athletic guy on the field but lots of arm tackles and lack of wrapping up that he will not get away with in college.

This defensive staff does a great job at teaching tackling fundamentals. If ND gets him they can fix the arm tackling problem.

Yeah, no doubt this staff is good at teaching fundamentals (especially compared to the previous one), and they have a lot of athleticism and toughness to work with with Prevot. Plus it's not like we'll need him to play right away ... there's time to coach him up.

50/50 whether he follows through with this scheduled official to ND this weekend, per BGI. Jason and Steve are hearing that he wants to go to TAMU and it's just a matter of whether there is room. We are likely a backup plan.

That's interesting. I don't recall the last time ND was a backup plan that I remember hearing about.

Personally, I don't really mind being a back up plan in this instance. We go after 3 commits for most likely two spots. Hopefully we get two and its not a big deal. However, if we are to miss on two of them and ATM is full we can still push for Prevot. From what BGI guys said in TV we are going to know where we stand with Hollins on Tuesday. If he is going to stay with UCLA then we might rally to get Prevot on campus. Just a thought.

I totally agree, being his backup plan works out great for us. We can try to close on Hollins and if he sticks with UCLA, we can move on Prevot.

Actually, although it can be taken as mildly insulting or at least humbling, I have nothing against the concept of being a back-up plan as long as the person would be straight-up with the staff and then work his butt off to be the best he could be IF he came here.

I thought that when a lot of these players decommited they would take there time and end up right back at USC. Its really starting to look like they are heading for the exit. USC will still have a good class but this might be a terrible close for the Trojans considering what they had 3 months ago.

Tale of recruiting in 2013. #USC verbal commit Torrodney Prevot will be making a National Signing Day decision.

We still don't know whether A&M has room for him though, do we? (jokes aside ... I know when you have 34 commits it seems like you'll never be full, etc. etc. )

Thx. I guess that makes sense with the staff apparently shifting the majority of their focus to Hollins now.

I didn't mean to sound like a dick but from the rivals, 24 7 you can follow boards and articles and many people believe its A&M. I follow recruiting a little to closely.

Now Jason's saying that people close to Prevot feel he will stick with USC ...

WTF. This is after we've heard nothing since the AA game except that he WILL NOT end up with USC.

All of the rumors come out based on sources, then we hear from other sources that the first issue of information is completely false... Might be sites trying to get subscriptions and hits. Tis the season.

Maybe this is best. If he's favoring USC over A&M, then I think he's more likely to visit. But if he's dead set on A&M which was originally reported, maybe we won't get a chance.

If he was 'sticking with USC' but still visiting A&M, then he's still willing to look around. If he wasn't set on USC, but not A&M, we're probably less likely to get a visit.
