If a kid wants to go to Auburn, he should go to Auburn. Of all of the shady football factories that are in every way the polar opposite of Notre Dame and everything it stands for, Auburn is at the top of that list.
I think ultimately Folston will end up staying with Notre Dame, and I really hope he does because I think he could be great in our offense, but I'm not going to stress about this.

Looks like you (and Christian at ISD) are correct, and that Sapp was mistaken. From this article, looks like BK had his in-home with Folston on December 6th.
