The thing i can't get over is why Manti wouldn't have used Skype or Facetime?

I mean you love this girl that lives far away, but you never considered using modern technology so you could talk in real time and see her face?

It's just hard to buy his story the more i think about it, plus the Thamel interview it sounded like he was making stuff up on the spot.

Im sad about it, hate this for college football.

Maybe he was making stuff up because he was in deep and just felt like it'd go away eventually without anyone finding the truth. If you were the victim of an elaborate hoax that was played out on national television how quickly would you tell the public? Not so easy, if you ask me.

He lied by not admitting this was an online relationship from the start.

His dad lied by saying the girlfriend visited him in Hawaii.

Te'o has also said they met at Stanford when they clearly didn't.

So many things that he and his family have said don't add up.

Theres no way he planned this from the start. Theres just no way. The worst option that is possible is that she died, she was more of just a friend and he really exaggerated and embellished the story. Whippy whippy.
This has NO affect on our personal lives and I just hope the best for Manti and his family.

I Skype a lot with friends around the country and family overseas. I don't like it...find it kind of weird, but a ton of people love it.

Yep, honestly in the end this wont effect the university and will really just be a PR hit to Teo.

I really don't see it changing his draft status because it will be a very minor distraction if at all.

Its really just an amazing soap opera that we all want to know the ending to.

My children Skype with their grandparents. It may not be cool for college students but it is great for young children who rarely get to see their grandparents.

Here's the thing: nobody can ever prove that Manti wasn't a part of this. You can look at all the evidence and assume he's innocent if you don't find anything linking him to the hoax; however, you can't prove his innocence (kind of like how you can't technically prove that evolution is true).

Unfortunately, this means that many people will remain skeptical of Manti regardless of the truth.

I don't think this is the case. Nobody is jumping off, we (some of us) are just angry/sad/embarrassed he and the university are once again in the headlines, and again it isn't because of streamers, crystal footballs, or a "miracle season."
