My biggest worry with EV is his USC visit. I could see Lane pulling something shady such as threatening to pull his offer if he doesn't commit or if he takes his other visits in an attempt to scare EV into committing.

Lane threatening the kid would be the best possible thing for ND IMO.

No way. Lane will take him no matter what if he wants to go.

I'm more worried about the Bama visit than the USC one. He already knows what USC has to offer, and their class has fallen apart since he decommitted. I hope he verbals to us before the Bama visit and calls it off.

Those two will go tomorrow.

That makes me feel better.

If Kiffy were to do that I think EV would definitely drop them from consideration.

Parents coming on visit too. Awesome. Tickets already purchased so minimal chance of him just committing to USC this weekend and them canceling.

Kiffin would only threaten a "lowly" three star, someone he knows he can take advantage of. He has to act sincere with the big recruits... you can't risk making a guy mad when he has offers from everyone.

Agree, parents would want to visit to make sure he has all the options in front of him before committing again.

Here is what his dad said about it...
""The main thing he wants to make perfectly clear is that USC is still heavily considered," said his father. "From the outside looking in, it may seem odd and people won't understand it."

"USC has done nothing wrong. The recruiting process has been fine and they didn't do anything to drive him away. He let the staff know he was de-committing three weeks ago, so they do know. He is considering other schools and held onto [de-committing] because this was a lot to take in and it wasn't an easy thing to do. "

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but for an official visit it is the school that covers the expenses, correct? Or do they cover it for the athlete and others must pay their own way?

university can provide transportation costs to parents only if they travel by car.

I can't make my mind up if this is antiquated or not. And then I think of the economic Pandora's Box that would be opened if airfare was provided (between the haves and haves not).

Since the rules are generally made by the haves, the rule was more likely intended to give local state schools an advantage in recruiting poor kids who value their parents' input. (Think Alabama, Auburn, LSU...)
