At this point I would say 85 percent that he's gone. What a ****ing disaster on the heels of a great year. Even if he does not leave I will never think about him the same way. The Eagles suck, have no titles and the fans are the most fickle in the world. Why in the hell is this even an option for him?

Yeah we're definitely fickle. That's why the season ticket wait list is 71,000 and expected wait time is 4,000 YEARS.

As a Eagles fan I'd much prefer the Seattle DC than Kelly.

Having a hard time not kicking the dog, insulting my wife, and screaming at the kids. (Kidding ofcourse). We should be talking about Eddie, Hollis, Isaac, junior day, Slaughter, Wood, etc.! If I see BK I'll fight him.

The "he gone" comment is in reference to an article that has shed no more light on the situation than any of us have over the past 48 hours. I would even garner a guess that the poster didn't even read the article, because if he had- he would have read that all the article is saying is that if Kelly doesn't take the job "no one knows what they'll do next." Meanwhile, the article also mentions how the Eagles have about 5-6 other candidates to interview. He's not gone, and even if he is- it's not based on anything this article has revealed.

I really really hope BK didnt use the ND job as a stepping stone. It is what it is at this point, but here is to hoping he sticks around as the head ball coach

If he does go, who are the top candidates? I would pay Chip Kelly what ever he wants to come to ND.

I think we all just want a resolution. The misinformation and not knowing are killer. I doubt that PFT knows anything new.

He isnt gone....jesus people relax. Just because he has a second interview doesnt mean the job is his. Remember the eagles have to still hire him.

If you interview for a job that means you are prepared to accept it if offered.

I don't think this is true, but you do have to be ready to leave if your current employer tells you to get bent. So you have to know that going in, even if you don't think it's likely, it's possible.

Here's an interesting thing regarding the: admissions and do what it takes to win topic. Why would you come to coach at ND if you would be put off by the Admin telling you that they won't allow oversigning and low standards for academics? I know Cincy doesn't give a rip about that, just look at what Huggins did while he was there. I also know that hindsight is 20/20 and people change their minds, but BK had to know what the deal was with ND when coming here. He made the NCG regardless. The gap is still there, but I don't think it's huge. He can still win at ND and build a champion. If the standards are the real problem then why not stay at a place like Cincy who you also led to an undefeated season and would let you admit anyone? What would Cincy be at this point had he stayed there? Probably a top tier team.

So maybe he's fighting for lower standards etc., but I don't think so. Honestly, I think he probably wants to coach in the NFL. That'd be my guess, because those are the steps he's taking.

Ahh, no. When you graduate from college do you automatically accept your first job offer? Not always.

Kelly is interested in the Eagles and they are interested in him. He is a climber and always has been. Many believe he will go to NFL it's just a matter of when.

Everything is hearsay at this point. Stop speaking with such certainty.

Many I'm talking to expect Brian Kelly to stay at Notre Dame rather than go to PHI. Eagles made approaches on Bill Cowher early in process

I'd hope Charlie Strong, Kirby Smart. I personally would like them to look at Dabo Swinney @ Clemson. I think he's a great coach & recruiter.

Like Piombino said, that article offers nothing we don't already know. The wording of the title prompts you to click. The best thing to do is just occupy yourself otherwise and come back when something of substance breaks. Although that's easier said than done.. I haven't put my phone down since I woke up.

This is the most frustrating and unrewarding thread in the history of irish envy.

The question is: do we really want to hit the reset button again, or promote from within and continue building on the blueprint that is in place? At this point I choose B.

Perfect example of people not knowing what's going on. BK may very well stay, but this is the same reporter who thought that the Bears were going after BK too. No one knows jack sh*t.

The only option I'd like in all honesty is Charlie Strong on the condition that he keeps most of the staff such as Diaco, Martin, Cooks, Heinstand, and Elliott.

Well, if BK leaves for the usual reason of "I have to do what's right for my family," who could blame him? According to USA Today, the average yearly salary for a division 1 college football coach is $1.47 million. Who can live on that? BK will have to work fries at Burger King three nights a week just to make ends meet.
