If you interview for a job that means you are prepared to accept it if offered.
I don't think this is true, but you do have to be ready to leave if your current employer tells you to get bent. So you have to know that going in, even if you don't think it's likely, it's possible.
Here's an interesting thing regarding the: admissions and do what it takes to win topic. Why would you come to coach at ND if you would be put off by the Admin telling you that they won't allow oversigning and low standards for academics? I know Cincy doesn't give a rip about that, just look at what Huggins did while he was there. I also know that hindsight is 20/20 and people change their minds, but BK had to know what the deal was with ND when coming here. He made the NCG regardless. The gap is still there, but I don't think it's huge. He can still win at ND and build a champion. If the standards are the real problem then why not stay at a place like Cincy who you also led to an undefeated season and would let you admit anyone? What would Cincy be at this point had he stayed there? Probably a top tier team.
So maybe he's fighting for lower standards etc., but I don't think so. Honestly, I think he probably wants to coach in the NFL. That'd be my guess, because those are the steps he's taking.
