Given the AQM situation and the apparent connection between Prevot and Vanderdoes, do you think the staff goes all-in on Prevot in lieu of Hollins?

With how hard the staff has been apparently recruiting Prevot, I guess that's a possibility, but with Hollins visiting ND next week I'd say it's unlikely that the staff would turn down his commitment if he wanted to give it and go "all in" in that sense.

If we're not the team to beat for both Prevot and Hollins right now, we're at least squarely in the mix. A horrid showing in the 'ship is about the only thing that can stop our momentum right now.

If we win the 'ship it's pretty clear that our class will finish with Prevot/Hollins + maybe Vanderdoes... with some other guys waiting in the wings as backup options. Still super bummed we're not getting AQM... but w/e. Really disappointing that someone from Bosco couldn't get qualified... no idea how that happens.

my only hiccup w/ taking hollins IF he were to verbal on visit is what if he backs out last minute and leaves us at the altar on signing day? i know anyone of our recruits could do this but i get the sense from everything i have read is the Prevot wants out but just needs to ensure his spot at sc until he finds a better fit for him (hoping ND)..i mean hollins has been on our radar for the past 12 months and there has been this flirty relationship from a distance but never seemed to me this visit is more than hey i will check ND out...where i feel prevot is more i need to get there...it has taken hollins far too long for me to finally set something up...but regardless whoever suits up for the IRISH i am a fan of!

I believe AQM couldn't get qualified because he transferred and missed some/a core course(s)

DomerLover is correct - it is because he, like a few others, transferred into Bosco. He is missing I believe at least one required course as a result of the transfer. How this was not found out and rectified earlier, I don't know. Could be several reasons.

Pandfan, one thing to keep in mind is that this worked out well for the staff. They wanted late visits from these guys so they could figure out the situation with AQM first. Not sure if you need to have that concern with hollins. He is on record saying that it is basically 50/50 ND vs UCLA so he's pretty serious. Now it's up to the staff to evaluate them in person when they visit and finish with the one they want.

Oh cool, great info. If that's the case, seems like it's a dealbreaker though. I mean, why does the staff think that the problem can still rectified? Is it that he may be able to take an online course or fulfill the requirement next semester or something?

I honestly don't know. I assume it could be the case, since we have recruited him hard till now, but I couldn't say for sure. Just passing along what I heard. The thing is, Shumate transferred into Bosco as well, and didn't have this problem. Looks like unfortunately AQM isn't coming to ND, which really sucks because he is my favorite OLB/DE by far. Hope we can snag Hollins or Prevot.

While all signs point to you being correct, the fact remains that the staff is still recruiting him. Even if he picks the U tomorrow, as long as ND is still recruiting him, I'm not going to give up hope that this will be worked out (or at the very least, they'll give it all they have trying). As previously mentioned, I don't understand why the staff would still be recruiting him if there wasn't a chance he could end up at ND. They clearly know something we don't.

The general consensus seems to be that we'd all prefer AQM over Prevot, and their respective ratings bear that out.

However, Vanderdoes has commented that Prevot was recruiting him the hardest out of all the USC commits, and adding him would probably boost our chances with the 5:s: DL.

So if Prevot comes with Vanderdoes, I'll have a hard time being upset about the loss of AQM.

I didnt see the whole game but T. Prevot was clearly making a positive impact in this game around the action a lot and I want him.

That would be nice. I think I'd give my left nut for EV. Prevot would be icing. I'd be OK with anyone so long as we get EV. I don't really want any more O players, but wouldn't bitch if we get a stud like Robinson. I've always liked LJ Moore.

Wiltfong stated that word around the Army game was that ND is the leader here. The A&M writer doesn't think he ends at USC nor does he think A&M will have room.

Agreed. Would love to have Larue if we had the space. Just like I would love to Ty but with two spots we go for Prevot/Hollins and Vanderdoes.

^I was actually thinking the opposite. "Legendary" started making me think EV and PW or EV and LM or EV and MA. Grant it the common denominator is EV but I think any of those three db's trump Prevott.
