I don't care one way or another about the Bears, but I think some of you are overselling the coaching gig there. 2-3 years from now, who on that roster are you really going to want to have there? And despite Cutler's arm strength and some decent yardage games and seasons in his career, what's the guy ever done? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get the OL/WR argument. But come on, not all of the best QB's in the league also coincidentally have the best OL/WR's as well. Cutler's not a guy I'd personally ever want to hitch my wagon too, and, not one many players and coaches throughout the league do either. I mean, yeah, guys wanted to and did hitch their wagons to Michael Vick, but it never really got them anywhere. I've felt the same about Cutler since he was coming out of Vanderbilt.
Anyway, I think the Bears gig is a good one in the NFL-- great fans, history, great market. I think, though, that they're not really anything like 1 player or 1 coach away from being a legit contender-- they're multiple players and coaches away. And, on top of that, guys like Briggs, Tillman, Forte, obviously Urlacher, and even Marshall may be gone from the team/out of football/over the hill a couple years from now. I love Henry Melton (back to his days as a goal line FB at Texas waiting to finally get his turn in the DE rotation), but feel he's a giant beneficiary of Lovie's Tampa Two. If the defense has schematic changes, I'm not sure he'd be quit the player in a new scheme.
Just my .02 cents. Yes, the Bears job may seem like the best one out there, but I'm not sure it really is...especially if you consider what the roster may look like in a couple years.
