While that is something that I stated earlier it could also be due to lack of interest until now on Prevot's end. Just something to keep in mind.

I believe this is the reason. Prevot is new to showing interestin ND.

For DE's, ESPN has his test results showing a 4.67 40-yard dash. The fastest for all DE's in the country according to ESPN is 4.66.

Prevot was the third player to receive an invitation to the July event after an outstanding performance at the Nike Football SPARQ Combine in March outside of Houston. He posted a SPARQ rating of 102.81, which ranks No. 1 among all defensive ends nationally.

obviously a freak athlete

Great read I just don't know how much more weight he can add to be a CAT OLB. not sure on his frame, but feeling is he won't end up at USC either. Btw neg reps the RKG, ND man, Notre dame type kid.

Didn't receive any visits during the contact period from the staff but got in contact with Cooks shortly before it was over. Hopes that LaRue and Eddie V visit on the 25th with him.

I like how we are just picking players off the USC commit list.

Let's see..I'll have a Max Redfield..ummm, Eddie Vanderdoes..maybe a Sebastian Larue...nope, not done yet...ummm, I'll also have a Torrodney on the side.

Why don't I feel bad about about that?

Army Bowl: Thursday Notebook

Neither does his coach, Jody Jordan. I’m writing this from a Hooters (don’t judge, I need Wi-Fi), pretty much the most overrated place in America outside of California, and lo and behold Prevot’s coach is sitting next to me, so I did the natural thing. I bought his drinks and tried to steer Prevot to Notre Dame in order to bring an SMU sized heap of NCAA sanctions against you.

Not really though.

Coach Jordan seems to think Notre Dame is the team to beat. Not only did he say he can’t see Prevot signing with A&M, he also stated he doesn’t think he’ll go to USC.

Just like I can’t see Prevot in College Station, I don’t think he’s too keen on attending college in South Central Los Angeles. I’m sure playing for the Trojans appealed to the literary romanticist within him, but if any school can match Southern Cal in prestige, it’s Notre Dame.

I like. I like a lot.

Love. this. If we don't get AQM I want Prevot. The more I hear and read about him, the more I want him. He is a good profile fit as both a kid and a football player.

Sapp's practice update really convinced me that Prevot is a great substitute for AQM. He's basically the same player, just a little more raw. Give him time with Longo and you won't be able to tell the difference.

Question: Say Vanderdoes is Irish before Prevot is ready to announce (And AQM doesn't come to ND), does ND take Torrodney? (Assuming Redfield is Irish).

I believe the consensus is Vanderdoes would be the "4th" (now the 3rd spot (only open for certain players)), but my question in if the order is switched would we take Prevot as well?

Prevot is obviously a stud but we are already limited next year, so I can understand not taking Prevot or Hollins, etc. if this is the case.

Great. Question. I think it depends on how many spots we have, i.e. who the coaches decide we need back for a 5th year and who may need to go on medical schollie. Vanderdoes is a make-room, must-take guy, but I don't think Prevot is. We'll just have to see whether there is room. There may or may not be a 4th spot, according to the BGI guys, and they haven't confirmed what it depends on.

But didn't Vanderdoes say that he will wait until signing day?

Thats probably true. Sometimes those things change though- e.g. he could really love a certain visit and commit on the spot. I just meant for it to be a plausible scenario, not a likely one. I think it is unlikely Vanderdoes joins the Mob, but we definitely have a shot.

That would be an interesting scenario and one we would all love. No answer that I'm confident in at this point but I bet we'll know by the middle of January a definite number on number of players we'll be taking.

That's my read as well. The "room for 2 more, maybe 3" rumor strongly implies that the staff wants to bring back both Fox and Calabrese, but that they're willing to let Calabrese go for a rare can't-miss recruit. Vanderdoes falls into that category, but Prevot probably doesn't.

But it seems very unlikely that Vanderdoes commits before NSD. In that case, taking Prevot may boost our chances with Eddie V. He's commented several times that Prevot was recruiting him harder than anyone to stay at USC.
