Barrett will be back.

I'll guarantee it.

Three weeks, pain killers, cortisone and oila!

Bingo

I had read shortly after the SECCG that is what a precautionary step for Jones and he will be playing. However, you have to wonder how good his conditioning will be if he's wearing the boot all the time.

Old Man Mike, we are a dying breed. I have toyed with the idea of getting one and if I ever do, it will be related to ND. But it doesn't matter what tatoo it is, at age 70 they aren't going to look good. When they finally pass away, do you think all the ladies with tramp stamps will want to be laid face down in their coffin? LOL

Lou is apparently having an interview right now because Brian Hamilton (ChiTribune) is retweeting Lou Holtz stuff like crazy. I'll post some of Lou's wisdom:

Lou Holtz on Johnny Manziel vs. #Alabama: "I think (Everett) Golson does the same thing."

Lou Holtz: "I do believe the key matchup is Alabama's offensive line versus the defensive line of #NotreDame."

Lou Holtz: "There's no school that brings people that don't know anything about football to TV set than #NotreDame when they're on top."

Lou Holtz praises #Alabama D, adds: "They don’t have the great pass rusher that is going to create a lot of havoc for the passer."

Lou Holtz on #Alabama run game: "I don't care if they go 4 yards, 5 yards, then minus-2, zero. You can't let them get into a rhythm."

Lou Holtz: "A lot of people don't think #NotreDame has a chance. I think they match up very, very well in the football game."

Lou Holtz: "if I was coaching #Alabama, I would be a little but upset. Here we are, defending national champs, you never hear about them."

Lou Holtz on #NotreDame goal-line D: "Getting down there and not scoring a TD is like reaching a par-5 in golf in two and six-putting."

Lou Holtz" "These #NotreDame fans been waiting for years to jump up and scream and holler."

Lou Holtz on #NotreDame: "Next year's football team will be better than this year."

So, i had a dream last night. Notre Dame was down to Bama 3-0 toward the end of the 2nd quarter. Bama was driving, but ND caused a fumble and Ishaq (he was wearing Tuitt's number, but I knew it was Ishaq because of his hair) picked up the ball and ran it back to inside the 5. On the very next play, Golson scrambled in for the TD to put ND up at the half. Don't know what happened after that, but if we end up going to half time with us ahead, I will be very happy.

I still want my "Return of the Jedi" dream ending, where Keivare Russell looks to the sidelines while celebrating a huge victory, and the ghosts of Tee Shepard, Ronald Darby, Deontay Greenberry, & Aaron Lynch nod approvingly.

AJ McCarron's expanded tattoo. Now I'm not a fan of tattoos, so my opinion is biased, but I think this looks absolutely terrible.

aj-mccarron-chest-tattoo-new.jpg

Oh my God.

That is seriously one of the worst tattoos I've ever seen, and before others post pictures of 'worse,' please consider the context.

Like Tommy said, this cat looks like he's trying to pull off a Mexican Mafia look on a Gomer Pyle frame. But it's not ironic. It's deadly serious.

We have to beat these guys now. Winners don't have tattoos like that... and if they do...they keep their shirts on.

I heard some ESPN reporter say that AJ mentioned to her how Notre Dame changes up its defense just before the snap. This nothing unsually here everybody makes lasted minute changes pre snap so they can hide their true coverage from the opposing QB.

I think though that how well Coach Diaco can hide things from AJ is important, as ND will no doubt at times move safeties into the box at the last possible instant. I hope Bobby D and defensive players can shut this guy down.

As you said winners don't have tattoos like that.

The kid is already a winner, no doubt, hands down.

He is also a winner off the field, no doubt, hands down. If you don't believe me, look at the picture of that beautiful "enahanced" woman he is sharing a passionate lip to lip kiss with about 70 pages back.

37 days of hearing about Bama, the SEC, "big boy football," how the title game was played yesterday, Saban being declared "cryptic" when the better term is "pompous jacka-s," cartoons of elephants crushing leprechauns, AJ McCarron making out with his mom.......FML

Seriously, who the hell gives their mom an open mouth lip to lip kiss?

A6uATjgCYAAE1F9.jpg-large.jpeg

You mean this one?

I know this photo does not show AJ's chest but shouldn't we be able to see part upper tattoo around his neck in this photo? Did he get the tattoo after this photo was taken because I see no evidence of it in this photo?

One way to beat the last minute adjustments is to go with a quicker count. The problem is if you didn't do that all year, it's hard to get into a flow where you would do that the entire game.

What if it rains the night of Jan 7 in Miami?

It rained pretty hard in Miami while the Colts played the Bears, and surprisingly the Bears didn't really get much of an edge because of it -- you could still pass pretty well. I would be cautiously optimistic.

Advantage Alabama. I've been thinking about this a lot actually, and it scares me.

Super Bowl XLI(Colts vs Bears) comes to mind. Let's just hope it isn't a factor.

SIAP but this is official now ... hope it disrupts Bama to some extent, but I doubt it has much impact.

Agreed. Saban is a big "process" guy (much like Kelly), so it's basically plug 'n play with coaches on his staff. As long as they buy into Saban's philosophy, stay on message, and can motivate 18-21 year old young men, they'll be successful.

Cant forget about Chris Martin, who now ironically is a Jayhawk....

"Junior college defensive end Chris Martin officially committed on Wednesday to play football for the Kansas Jayhawks, according to JayhawkSlant.com.

Martin, a four-star recruit out of City College of San Francisco, originally signed with the California Golden Bears out of high school before transferring to the Florida Gators in 2010. He ended up at Navarro College in Texas in 2011 after leaving Florida following an arrest, making Kansas his fifth stop in less than three years. That does not count the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, with whom Martin signed following his junior year.

That makes Martin, who registered 65 tackles, 12 1/2 tackles for a loss and 4 1/2 sacks in 2012, familiar with Weis, who went 1-11 in his first year at Kansas. Despite that record, Martin feels Weis knows what kind of players it takes to win, he told Austin Meek of the Topeka Capital-Journal:

"If you look at Notre Dame right now, who are they all winning with and in the national championship game with? Coach Weis' players."

Martin joins a KU recruiting class that is ranked No. 31 in the country, according to Rivals.com"

I wish someone could a Dwight Shrewt False pic for this...

Well it's somewhat true,

KLM, Te'o, Zeke, Calabrese, Martin, Cave, Riddick, Cierre, Eifert, are some bigtime contributors and were all from Weis's class.

If all he's saying is that Weis is a good recruiter who knows talent when he sees it, I certainly don't disagree.

If he is saying Weis had anything to do with the success of the players he recruited to ND after they got here, I certainly don't agree. At all.

He's technically right. 17/22 of our current starters were recruited (at least initially) by Weis. By my count, Farley, Russell, Tuitt, Golson and Daniels are the only starters recruited by Kelly.

I guess Martin is kinda right, but you have to remember that the "Weis players" also bear an uncanny resemblance to the oldest players on the team...

I think we opened the first series with the pass in a number of games to get the D to back off a little then started the ground and pound.

I think it is also a way to get Golson immediately acclimated into the game.
