Baratti will be a solid to great player for us.

Now what about Tashawn Bower? Anyone think we have a real shot here? or is this just the staff doing their due diligence and checking on studs in the area we are already recruiting...

That's good stuff right there. Keep your options open and if spots are available and he wants in, it's a win win in my book!

A good back-up if AQM decides to go elsewhere, as unlikely as that might seem. The staff is definitely covering all their bases.

True. I was thinking that if we somehow strike out on Redfield and Bower wants to commit, that we'd take him AQM, Rochell, and Matuska on the DL. There is a reason our D is so good this year - it starts on the DL.

But since we look to be in really good shape with a handful of guys in the '14 class, I think Bower is a backup plan at best.

I think you would be surprised at how many OLBs have 4.8 speed.

I agree but I guess it matters if he is playing cat or dog. Jaylon runs a 4.5 and is playing dog correct? I would believe that Ishaq and Prince are faster than a 4.8 as well

So do we think there are silent verbals out there?

They have 3 maaaybeee 4 spots right now for sure.

Redfield, Folston, AQM, Vanderdoes, LaRue, are all higher priority guys. Less to do with silents, more about numbers.

That's Weis logic though. If there are no silents, there would be no point in not still recruiting lesser kids as backup plans in your scenario. Obviously that is not the case though as we have seen the staff time and again keep all options up just in case, which is one of the biggest things that separate them from Weis' staff. If the staff liked him and he could pass admissions, there is absolutely no reason to tell him right now that he couldn't come. There is a reason kids like J. Williams, Hollins, etc are still in communication with the staff, albeit not being given the hard push.

Just my opinion, but that would make no sense to me.

I don't think it is about the staff saying he couldn't come. I am thinking it is more that the staff wanted to keep the option open but since Bower was not a high priority recruit, he dropped ND.
