Redfield is the man; he gives this class tremendous balance. Who says he may not play offense some?

He does seem to have some Charles Woodson to his game. Maybe he'll become the second ND defensive player to win the Heisman. After Manti of course. Overall the new rivals 100 has been very positive for our team. Its always good when your recruits are moving up the list at the end of the season.

Also, if we just land AQM and Redfield this class looks scary good. Add any of Folston, Bryant, Vanderdoes, etc. and we are almost at the top spot maybe even overtake it.

With Rivals formula once you get over 20 commits there is a smaller increase to your overall ranking when you add somebody because their new system only evaluates 20 per class so you are essentially adding then subtracting pts. And with USC's class as of right now being small but top heavy it will be hard to overtake them. But again if we add AQM, Redfield, Bryant, and somebody else that would get very close, IMO.

#NotreDame leads for new 5-star S Max Redfield. He's up to 24 in the Rivals100 update. Also, will host 5-star RB Greg Bryant (16) this week.

Can anyone explain this one???? Elevenwarriors forum had something concerning Redfield. Hopefully there was some miscommunication here somehow.
Boarding House: Monday Edition

But they are recruiting the Golden State and at least one prospect they have been in contact with in the past month, safety Max Redfield, says he would like to make an official visit to Ohio State. Redfield was at one time a USC commitment. He is still interested in USC, but has also made official visits to Notre Dame and Washington. In addition to those three schools, Redfield is interested in Oregon and Ohio State.

Redfield has spoken with Tom Herman and Ed Warinner, but to this point the Buckeyes have not offered a scholarship nor asked him to make an official visit. But interestingly, in addition to saying he would like to make an official visit to Ohio State, Redfield adds that, “If I had to pick a favorite it would probably be Ohio State.”

There is no doubt the Buckeyes’ No. 1 target at safety is Vonn Bell. But Redfield’s name could come more prominently in play depending on what happens with Bell.

Redfield, who is from Mission Viejo, is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the No. 44 overall prospect, the No. 5 safety and No. 3 prospect in California.

Rivals is usually slower to give out 5 stars than 247. 247 has 27 and rivals has 26 after updating today.

You are right. They all give out to many 5 stars, except for ESPN.

IMO there should only be 10-12 5 stars a year for the truly elite prospects. the near can't miss kids.

This came from the OSU 247 reporter, and when he was questioned on it by the Osu fans, the reporter stuck to his guns. Apparently not a misprint. Seems fishy still to me.

Whoa, very fishy. There must have been some kind of misunderstanding there. How can they be the favorite when he hasn't visited?

It would take a titanic bullshitting job by Urban to convince Redfield that Ohio State could offer anything close to ND academically.

Or perhaps could end up like the Davonte Neal situation and push Redfield into our arms for good.

Well, Urban is a titanic bullshitter. And it wouldn't be so shocking if he at least gave them a look, would it?
But "favorite" seems unlikely, given that he's not been linked to them at all to date. Could also be a case of a kid telling a reporter what he thinks the guy wants to hear. That has been known to happen.

Agreed, Max is a very level headed kid from everything I've heard. I doubt he would put Ohio State on top without every visiting. I also think that if he doesn't come to ND, he'll be at Oregon. So IMO they're 3rd on the list at best.

That's total bullshit haha. He was quoted as saying "If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Notre Dame" a couple weeks ago right? So that's the same quote and they put OSU instead of ND. A good way for OSU to get some more recruiting hype

Eleven warriors is not good for recruiting info. OSU leads for everyone, no one can believe ANY recruit would/should ever consider Notre Dame when OSU is involved. The articles they write are written to excite people on their board instead of providing accurate info. Neal, Anzalone, Heuerman and Jaylon recruitments were especially entertaining to read.

He pulled our best OL last year.

I'm not over that yet.

Can you imagine him getting Redfield?
