And that's exactly what Weis says:
"Coach Kelly, his staff and, of course, the players have done a great job to achieve their 12-0 record and No. 1 standing," Weis said. "I have personal relationships with several of the older players and will always support them. Though we recruited them to Notre Dame, they have reached their goal together under Coach Kelly's guidance.

Some of the haters out there preparing for a possible NCG win are already spewing gunk about Kelly winning with Weis recruits. "See what he can do with his guys."

Ugh, never ends.

SBNation's Andy Hutchins (a UF fan) addressed this in an excellent article today:

Notre Dame has done that since Kelly took over. The class of 2010 brough Louis Nix III, Prince Shembo, Bennett Jackson, and Danny Spond; 2011's haul included Stephon Tuitt and Ishaq Williams; and 2012's KeiVirae Russell is starting at cornerback. Te'o is great, and a legitimate Heisman candidate despite his value being hard to gauge, but he's one of only four seniors starting for the Irish on defense (Kapron Lewis-Moore, Dan Fox, and Zeke Motta are the other three), evidence that Kelly's staff has restocked a cupboard that has been bare for years.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame's finest defensive recruiting prize of the Kelly regime, five-star 2011 end Aaron Lynch, is already gone from South Bend, having fled to USF to get closer to his Gulf Coast home. And Notre Dame's best crop of defenders under Kelly may be the one coming in 2013, when Jaylon Smith and Alex Anzalone make it to campus.

By contrast, the other side of the ball is almost all holdovers from Charlie Weis' time at Notre Dame: the only sophomores (these would be players almost fully recruited by Kelly et al.) with major roles are Everett Golson and George Atkinson, and the line and receiving corps are almost entirely seniors. Kelly inherited his offense; he and Diaco and his recruiters built the defense, which is better than the offense is.

The longest run under Weis was 30 something yards... I don't know if I'd like that under Kelly. If Kelly gets a little more "ballsy" with his spread attack especially in the endzone, we got a top 10 offense here in the future.

I believe Weis averaged 35ppg, while giving up 30ppg.

I really like Charlie. He worked his *** off while he was here. I wish he hadn't departed on such bad terms. He's is an alumnus. Let's never forget that.

This dates back to a little while. Charlie sent some real nice support to BK and the seniors earlier. I think he appreciates the kind of job Bk and his staff have been doing. Keep plugging Charlie, I will be pulling for the Jayhawks for sure.

I'm just impressed with Charlie. That's the way to handle the situation with class, which he didn't always do in SB.

The media day when Clausen and Tate declared for the draft always struck me as sour grapes.

I've always liked Charlie though, and was on the fence when it came down to it.

Charlie's not normally known for his PC remarks, but this one was top notch. He said all the right things here.

Classy move.

I was happy to see Charlie leave because he just wasn't working out as a coach. But I hated to see a Domer and a legit good guy lose his job.

Charlie is the best. Hard guy not to like. Class move as usual. Doubt anyone loves their alma mater more than he does.

The fact that Charlie sent a heart felt letter to BK and BK acknowledged it in a press conference says all I need to know about Weis. I always liked Charlie, his cocky attitude comes off as arrogance now, but at the time we all thought that is what we needed for this football team.

Ok it didn't work and we moved on in the right direction, but Weis is/was an ok guy in my book and did the best job that HE could do. It just wasn't enough. He is an ND man and we should thank him for the players he brought in and the effort he gave.

Charlie showed a lot of class the way he handled that matter. I tip my hat to him.
