Wood can't raise his draft stock much higher than a mid-round grade. College numbers don't mean nearly as much as a combination of eye test and sheer physical attributes. Wood is a nice slasher. He'll be a good backup in the NFL. I don't care if he rushes for 1500 yards and 20 TDs next year, he still wouldn't go in the first round.

I am not usually one of the one's on here with any of the scoops, BUT THIS TIME I HEARD A LOT OF INFO CONCERNING CIERRE. One of the first things I asked was if he was coming back next season & from what I heard, he is definitely not planning on coming back. He will graduate in December & he has several plans in the works and they do not include coming back. I also heard why he was suspended & it was for something that I had not read. Also, I heard his reasons for not coming back. Man oh man, I would LOVE to tell everything I heard!!! I, in good conscious, can not tell what I heard because I really value the trust these families extended to my family. The parents were such AWESOME people and I would feel like a snake in the grass if I blabbed all of the things that players & parents said to us and to each other while we were there. I was talking to Cierre later & I swear on the Bible that I told him that I felt he was going to go for 150 yards or more. (He had 150!!!!) I then asked him if there was ANY situation where he might come back. He smiled really big & said right now no, but God would lead him. Folks, I know some of you think I am making all this up. Hell, I was there and I still don't believe I was there ! Hahaha.

Sorry that I haven't been on in a couple of days. Yesterday was the date of an automobile accident that caused two of my loved ones to leave this world way too early. I spend the day with them at the grave. Thanks to Clashmore Mike for posting my pics for me!

For what it's worth, he was one of the handful of seniors who took a victory lap around the stadium Saturday (I didn't ID all of them, but the others I did - Riddick, Goodman, Cave - are definitely done).

Also, had no idea he has a little girl. Leaving makes more sense in that case.

Your a great guy but do us all and yourself a favor and don't begin to turn the pot over if your not going to spill the beans... You sound like an 8th grade kid looking for attention. I'm not usually confrontational and I apologize ahead of time if I have offended you.

Also, I'm sorry for your loss.

Wish I were an 8th grader again!

Dude, lighten up. From what I got out of the post, he said that he heard from the families that Cierre wasn't coming back. Now, as for the other stuff, I am sure he did hear things. I agree that it would t be right of him to tell what the parents said. Should he have mentioned that he heard other stuff, guess you think he shouldn't, but on the other side of that coin, it does give the impression that they have been weighing everything out. I thought it was marijuana he had smoked & then failed a test, but Coach (bigedefense) says it wasn't that. Without betraying the family, as he felt it would, it gives me a good idea of what it was. I know bigedefense. He has been my coach for six years and I will tell you this, he is far from a immature person. I know him personally & none of you know him fromAdam. I read his post & it made sense to me. I think he is saying that Cierre's family is upset about him not getting more reps after he paid for his mistake. When Coach says that about he wishes he could tell you about what the family was saying, I think Coach was getting at they were unhappy with his playing time. Also, I gathered that the family wants him to go in the draft, butCierre is mixed. I haven't talked to Coach because we are out of school this week, but I am going to quiz him next week.

I don't post on here much because I usually have nothing to say. I just read and try to gather knowledge about the team, but sitting here in my deer stand this morning I read this thread & I had to get on here and stand up for bige. He has stood for me more times than I can count, so it was my turn this morning. GO IRISH!!!!

Can't really call him "kid" anymore since he's a father. I wouldn't hold anything against Wood for wanting to be with his daughter and supporting his family by going to the league now.

If a guy that's younger than me isn't a "kid". What does that say about me? #kid4life

As much as I would love to have Cierre back next year, he would probably be better off going to the Draft. On top of that he is gonna be getting his insurance policy when he get that golden degree! More proud of him for that than anything he has done on the field, and that's saying something because he has has some great football moments!

Yeah. And how much more is he going to prove with another year in college? Sure he'd be the clear No. 1. back, but it's not like he lacks for tape. He's averaging 7 yards a carry. Had 1,000+ yards last year, so he's shown he can do the workhorse thing. Has become a much smarter, more patient back over the years. He's not going to get bigger or faster or younger. He's graduating. He's never been hurt. And that last bit can change quick for a running back, just look at Lattimore.
I'd love to have him back, but I'm not sure how much sense it makes from his perspective.

is it dancing if he gets tackled when he has no where to go? Riddick has played much better, I am not disagree, but the line is also blocking for Riddick much better.

Yeah, because they are blocking differently because riddick/TinyDancer is in the game. That's just idiotic... Cierre turns his shoulders to avoid contact.....Theo welcomes contact, and moves forward. Your premise is ****.

Riddick seems to just put his head down and goes. Cierre likes to dance. In Cierre's defense though, with the zone blocking scheme he is supposed to be patient and wait for the holes to open. But Riddick is playing much better.
