C'mon. I'd expect a fellow Notre Dame fan to respect tradition. Foster always had Auburn high on his list, and he should've guessed that Chizik and staff would be hot on his trail, being right down the road.

As for the Eagle/Tiger thing. Auburn is known as the Tigers, as their mascot. But legend states that a Civil War veteran found a baby eagle on an abandoned battlefield, and took it to an Auburn-Georgia game. During some point in the game, the eagle flew around the field. During that time, Auburn scored and took the lead. Which began the chant "War Eagle". Auburn won the game, but legend states that the Eagle died soon after.

That's just one of the several myths. Auburn's mascot is "the Tigers who shout "War Eagle".

All of that sounds just about as dumb as what you would expect Auburn people to come up with.

The best part of the story

One day after flipping to Auburn, Foster cemented the decision by getting a gigantic Auburn tattoo on his forearm. His mother said the commitment remains so strong that the entire family intends to get Auburn tattoos, also.

This is funny (ironic) based on today's activities. Foster is clear but Liner put himself in jeopardy.

Foster has been approved/cleared by the AHSAA to play football at Auburn HIGH SCHOOL this season. He's a former GA resident that verballed to Bama than changed to AU. Somebody blew the whistle that his HS transfer from GA to AL (mom had moved the family to the city of Auburn) was illegal but the AL HS Association says it's kosher and he can play HS ball in '12.

Meanwhile Dee Liner, a 5 Star DL HS recruit also in the class of '13 Auburn verbal has some issues of his own recently. He was arrested twice in July (see the LINK below) and today he walked out of practice on this Muscle Shoals, AL HS team. His coach promptly suspended him. Liner hardnosed a tweet that's he was "so ready to graduate and be at Auburn!".

I doubt Muscle Shoals will take the hardline action that Don Bosco did with Wright last year.

As much as he deserves to get sh!tcanned, I doubt it happens this year-- I think his buyout is 7.5 or 10 milli for this year. And they probably will be paying the new coach in the 3-4 million range. Plus, Foster would probably bill them for the tat removal...so there's that too.

Sounds pretty damn confident that Chizik is gone:

"Gene Chizik is losing his job. That seems inevitable at this point."

Also says in a later post that the one reason Chizik could keep his job next year is Foster, but I find it hard to believe the Auburn AD is going to allow one recruit to influence that big a decision.

I think just foster is a stretch but they also have Lawson and liner to keep on board who r beasts. I think chizik gets fired but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see auburn do something shaddy like fire chizik after signing day
