Steamrolled by Oklahoma? lol hardly.

ND's defense will win the battle at the lines against Oklahoma's patchwork offensive line. Oklahoma has not played a defense anywhere near as physical as Notre Dame's. It will be a shock for them early and we will probably get a few TO's, it is a must to get points of early Oklahoma TO's.

ND is going to force Oklahoma is play the type of game they aren't used to. ND will play smashmouth football in the trenches and beat Oklahoma down early and fast. Oklahoma is going to have to significantly raise there game to keep up with the toughness of ND.

I expect EG to throw around 15-18 passes while running A LOT of read option/QB designed runs and our RB's to keep Oklahoma off balance and wear them down as the game goes on.

Landry Jones will not have the protection to get into a rhythm and we will record 3/4 sacks.

ND wins 24-20

Ummmm. Clearly you only read what you wanted to read. Plus if ya dont like what I have to say then maybe YOU should leave or better yet just block me. Really, it's that simple.

Sorry I don't see every single thing you post. But the only things I do see are negative posts from you. Things have been pretty great on the board lately, we don't need more sh!t from you trying to ruin it.

Receivers can't beat you if the QB is on his backside. Pound them SOONER then later.

Beginning to move away from the "playing with house money" mindset me and alot of other guys have about this game.

I'm instead starting to realize I'll be severely disappointed if we don't win, and it's a great feeling to have that.

I'm sold after yesterday. In a classic "ND craps the bed" scenario, they did enough to win because they realized losing is unacceptable under any circumstance.

As much as if feels great to be 7-0.......WE. ARE. ABOUT. TO. GET. STEAMROLLED. BY. OKLAHOMA.

I have been pretty much positive most of the year and have predicted many wins so far but this one is over before it starts.

Oklahoma 42
Notre Dame 17

yea considering that in no 5 game span has Notre Dame given up 42 points combined this season, you should probably keep your radical prophecies and crazy dreams to yourself.

Your point is invalid. Last 5 teams not same as OU. OU first team that can expose our inexperience in our secondary. Also, OU has the benefit of 7 games worth of film to review and scheme. Finally, BYU had the 3rd rushing defense. How did that go for them? I think there is a chance we get blown out. On the positive note, when I look at OU roster I don't see to many scary names except for the QB and WRs, so if we can get shake OU's confidence early and get out to a lead, I think we might have a chance.

Exactly. OU's Oline has proven less than our secondary. Our front 7 will be a huge problem for them.

This team is good enough to beat Oklahoma, but only if Golson makes a couple of big plays in the passing game. I'm expecting the defense to hold Oklahoma to 20 points or so, but am concerned that we won't be able to score that many unless Golson takes a big step forward.

There is some validity, if ND's defense had gotten beaten for an average of 30 points a game, wouldn't you suggest that the odds of OU putting 42 points on us were much more likely than ND holding them to 10? Its not an absolute that ND will hold OU to 9 points a game, but its much less likely that OU will put 42 on us.

OU has not played a game anywhere near as physical as they will Saturday. OU is going to have to adjust, but getting punched in the mouth repeatedly will take its toll. Thats the problem with playing in a pass happy conference that has no defense, a tough physical defense can be very overwhelming.

1) You sound redundant. Miami was supposed to expose our shaky secondary. Stanford was suppossed to be the first team that had a balance and effective pass and run combination. You really sound like any of the ND haters on the espn comments section.

2) Benefit of game film? Notre Dame has that same benefit to study Oklahoma's offense.

3) It went bad? So that give us more confidence? Don't know how that relates or what your trying to say there.

4) the only real defense Oklahoma faced was KSU and they held the sooners to under 20 points.

Obviously this is our toughest game, and we a deservedly the underdogs, but we will not get blown out.

Wasn't Miami going to expose our inexperienced secondary? What happened there? Two dropped long passes but other than that we held their touted passing attack in check. It just seems that whenever we win, it's never because we did well, instead it was because the other team did poorly. Let's just finally start having some confidence in this defense. It has currently allowed the second fewest points per game in the country, behind ONLY Alabama.

Our physicality, depth and stamina will be something relatively new to them (besides K-State). The fact that they have tape on us is irreleveant when it comes to Tuitt de-cleating you. What that tape does give them is a plan to attack the corners early with screens and quick passes like BYU tried to do.

They will have to attempt to establish a run game at some point and we MUST shut that idea down immediately. If Jones is given the luxury of play action we are in trouble.

Make no mistake, if things go wrong early this game could take a turn for the worst. We cannot have passes bouncing off shoulder pads, missed assignments or irresponsible penalties. I just don't see OU giving us a chance to redeem.

Play clean, tough and fearless, right out of the gate.. If Kelly has ever taken any advice from Lou he'll have some tricks up his sleeve for this one.

Just got to get a bit lucky. Need secondary to play MUCH better than they did against BYU and need some turnovers. If we keep this game tight, then hopefully we can run the ball on Oklahoma and chew up clock. Totally plausible that we win something like 24-17... also totally plausible that we lose 35-10 if we have miscues and can't cover.

I can guarantee that there wasn't a single person who looked at this game at the beginning year and thought that ND would be ranked higher than OU going into this game.

I thought we would be going in undefeated, so it wasn't out of the question. I never thought about actual rankings of this point of the season back then. Soooo....

To have a good chance:

1) Stop the run. If we stop the run, their PA-fakes will not catch us off guard. Get them into obvious passing downs. 1st down plays will be huge for us. This is the most important thing in the game, imo.

2) Let EG roll out when passing. He's better on the run.

3) Let EG keep a few. I know he'll be two-weeks from a concussion, but if he's cleared, he's cleared. Have to keep the defense in check with his ability to keep.

I will be in Vegas this weekend. Anyone know a good spot to watch with kids in tow?

When I was there a couple years ago, there was a California Pizza Kitchen in the Mirage that had some huge TVs. Not a bad spot to grab a bite to eat and watch the game. I don't think there was any sound to the game though, but I could be mistaken.

Haha I hear ya. Luckily all my trips planned this fall are either during the 3 game ACC stretch or to go see a game. Be sure to record it though so you can watch on your own time sometime. I had to rewatch the Miami game 'cause of a pre-planned camping trip.
