Could be a knee-jerk reaction. Saturday seemed insane in G-ville, and that was a huge win any way you slice it.

Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst, and 5-0 makes this something as worrysome as a cloudy day.

Would suck to lose him. I think he is a good kid and could help this team in the future. If we lose him, I would say "Damn!" but would move on. We can now replace folks like someone said before. Meez not worry bout Alecks!

I wonder what he does when ND ends up #2 in BCS rankings after beating Stanford :pity:

If, if, if... None of this is true yet.

But if he were leaving us for Florida, it may have nothing to do with which team is better. It may just be a question of waiting to see if Mushamp can right the ship and get the program back on the right track. No one wants to join a team in turmoil.

I seriously need to use italics more often.....

I agree that this stinks, alot. But as much as Anazlone commented on coming in and playing right away, it was never going to happen. I am extremely confident in the staffs ability to develop talent and Grace will be stepping in for Manti if Alex comes or not. Would love to have this kid behind Grace and Fox/calabrese next season but it isn't the end of the world.

As hinted at above, if we lose out on Anzalone, as far as ratings go, we shouldn't be worried. We'd be replacing a 4-star with another 4-star.

It just opens up a spot for Clement (4-star), A. Muhammad (4-star), Delano Hill (4-star), Folston (4-star), K. Muhhamad (4-star), LJ Moore (4-star), Alexander (4/5 star), Isaac S (4-star), Redfield (4-star), Hawkins (4-star), etc.

Out of these, it sounds like we're in great position with: LJ Moore, A & K Muhammad, Clement, Folston, Hill, plus at least one surprise. It's good to be 5-0.

To be honest, I would much rather get Muhammad, Moore, Alexander, Isaac S, Redfield and Hawkins before Anzalone. That's not sour grapes either, we haven't technically even lost Anzalone. It's just the truth. I think all of those dudes would have a bigger impact to our team.

Lots of chatter, nothing confirmed yet. But if he leaves, he leaves, I don't want someone on our team or at our school who isn't 100% Irish. Some people are mentally strong enough to handle the South Bend lifestyle, some aren't, whatever his reason may or may not be. I want a full squad of players that have the same mindset as Teo, 100% Irish, live or die! If he can't see something special building under Kelly, than he may not be the RKG, as BK likes to put it.

Well, star rating is not really the issue though; position depth is. Of those guys you mentioned none is an ILB except Savaiinea, and I think we really need two ILBs in this class, or else we only have three, plus any incoming frosh, in 2014 (Kendall Moore, Grace, and Deeb). One non-frosh backup is not enough.

But there's a lot of time till signing day and as long as AA makes his intentions known sooner rather than later we'll have no trouble getting another ILB to jump on board. As I said last night, the ideal thing is to just get Savaiinea, whom we are already pursuing.

I would take Muhammad and Isaac over Anzalone. Don't get me wrong, I really hope Anzalone keeps his commitment, but if we swapped him for one of the two, ain't no thang but a chicken wing.

We have many other people that could play ILB, including Rabasa and Schmidt. That is the difference with Kelly, he recruits athletes not position.

What are our chances of actually landing Isaac S? Is it a realistic possibility?

He's suppose to visit this weekend. His coach is Manti's father I believe. There is a connection there. Some other people might get you better insights. I watched his film yesterday. The kid is an absolute beast, I would take him in a heart beat.

Should know better after this weekend. In the past he has said all he hears about is how he plays like Manti and doesn't want to stay in his shadow. Once he gets here and see's how much Manti is loved by the fan base that might change his mind.

He'd be making a huge mistake. I think that playing under Diaco will be on the level of playing under Wade Phillips or Dick LeBeau one day.

If you're really committed to building something strong, brining back ND to national championship football, and getting an education....I don't see how UF would even be considered.

Don't chase the "shiny object" Alex.

I was just pointing at ratings to show that as far as talent, we should not get butt-hurt about someone decommitting.

And about your depth question. If we suffered a decommit from any position, I'd say LB is where we'd want it. As far as ILBs, there's been talk about Randolph playing inside with Deeb, and if we put, say, Muhammad on the outside with Jaylon, that's all 4 LB positions covered in one recruiting cycle + Mattingly (another LB).

We're great at LB with or without Anzalone. With him, though, this LB class is unreal.

I hope Alex sticks with his commitment, but if he decides that Florida is a better fit for him, I just hope that he makes the call sooner rather than later so we can fill his spot.

Keep in mind that Aaron Lynch and Stephon Tuitt both decomitted and were pulled back in.

I'm really not freaking out about this. Too many great things going on with this program right now.

Mike Farrell is hearing different things and says (of course) there is interest since he left Gainesville.
