ND needs a BCS bowl win, I'd take a Fiesta Bowl win just to get the monkey off our back.
I have a better question. Would you rather go 10-2 and beat USC or 11-1 with the only loss to USC?
Which two teams beat us?
I can't stand all this let's focus on Miami bullshit. If you want to focus on Miami then stay out of this thread. It's a ****ing hypothetical question on a message board. Get over yourselves, internet coaches.
Everyone on here is guilty of predicting our defenses dominance over future opponents but god forbid someone posts a BCS bowl or NC situational question. How many people have filled up our future opponents' threads with predictions? What the hell are you so worried about?
Id take the Fiesta bowl win. End the season on a high note. Would be a tougher decision if you told me we lose a nail biter in the NC though.
Doesn't matter, pick any two you want. Oklahoma and Stanford

Oh hell, why not. 10-2 with losses to Michigan & USC or 7-5 but we beat both?

You're making it sounds like the Rose/Fiesta/Orange/Sugar bowl is comparable to the Meineke Car Care bowl. BCS games are a bigger deal than you're giving them credit for. I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I'd rather me, ND players/fans, recruits, etc, look at ND and see us as a team that finally showed they can compete at a BCS level and maybe even wonder 'could we have won it all?' rather than 'we're close, but the 42-10 loss in the NC game shows we're not there yet'. I think that winning the lower-tier BCS game leaves the program in a more positive position than being blown out in the NC game. Agree to disagree.
Ill take the fiesta bowl win. While it would show the program has gone forward by playing in the NC itd be a deep cut still to go that far and lose and have that loss on that big stage to think about for months until the next season where you can only hope to somehow make that game again. A fiesta bowl win while not as big of a game would mean that we prolly beat the big 12 champs or 2nd place team, or the snd place team in the sec or big 10 giving us still some very good validation and the biggest postseason victory since 93 to think about all offseason.
As far as 11-1 with only one loss to usc or 10-2 and beat usc. Ill take the win over USC I hate them, I have no respect for them and every USC fan ive ever met in my life is a douchebag so i can handle 2 losses as long as we beat them and as some icing on the cake this year ruin matt barkley's senior night.

Gay guys riding... Bulls?
Here is why the "internet coaches" might be saying that it is foolish to start fantasizing about end of the year scenarios after 4 games: the guys who do that are also the guys who have unrealistic expectations for the team. Most bandwagon jumpers are also the guys who start fantasizing about six games down the road. These are the guys who want the coach fired as soon as the team loses a game. I might be tempted to worry about those down the road games if I had tickets and flights booked, but I think focusing on the team's next game helps one keep things in perspective.
